You get what you pay for... not great, not bad. There were some semi-scummy folk hanging around back in the parking lot area.

Charming little place! loved it! The guy running this hotel was awesome- super nice, attentive to guests' needs 24/7, offered to help with luggage, gave tour of hotel, and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Room had air-conditioner and cable which was also great. And the price was phenomenal- best deal I've ever had on a hotel. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to LA that will have access to a car.

The manager was very friendly and attentive. I made a mistake and put it the wrong date on Orbitz and he changed it with no problems. Luckily he did have the two rooms that I have asked but for the following day. The hotel is "European style" and you are given your own private room with a firm queen bed and a sink and small refrigerator. Toilets and shower is shared and it was located in the middle of the hallway. Each room is equipped with its own windows air conditioner (at least on the first floor). It was quiet and there was free parking offsite and off the street. There is free coffee and fresh fruit in the morning at the small lobby. The room is small and it barely has a room for a chair when you have two carry on bags. The manager told me that the big issue for some people is the bathroom, being shared. This room is step above youth hostels (where there is no privacy in youth hostels) and cleaner than some cheap motels. For a cheap stay and you just needed a safe place to sleep close to Los Angeles without paying a lot, and you don't mind the bathroom to be outside the room...think being like a guest in someone's house and you have to go to hallway bathroom anyway, then I recommend this place with no reservation.

room was bit of small but that didn't bother me at all. only one thing I didn't like was that the bathroom/restroom was shared with people. coffee and bread were included which is a plus.

The hotel was very clean, quiet at night. If you don't mind sharing shower restroom, then you'll enjoy your stay. You can use their computer in the lobby - that's a plus.

Hotel Raymond is right in the heart of Alhambra and is a quaint little hotel. I couldn't ask for anything more considering the price! The room was clean and comfortable and the shared bathroom was very clean. The hotel mgr was very accomodating considering my arrival at midnight; he set me up with the keys, internet codes and everything else within 5 minutes of my arrival. If you are looking for a safe little place and a great price you can't beat it.

The manager was very helpful and accommodating. The bathrooms were very clean. I would stay here again as it was a good value for the price. There are no amenities of major note here except for the free wi-fi but I wasn't looking for anything more than that.

Very cozy. Must be open minded... since there are community bathrooms (like being in college all over again!). Room was small but very nice and well kept. I felt the location was excellent, very close to Downtown Los Angeles and blocks from downtown Alhambra. Located in a nice neighborhood. If you are the efficient type who keeps their costs down during travel, this hotel could work for you. I very much enjoyed my stay.

The weekend of my wedding I flew into LAX rather late and needed a place to sleep for the first night, just a bed and a bathroom because I was leaving the next day. My fiance' went ahead of my flight landing to pick up the keys and was informed that the bathrooms are shared and not private. The staff is deplorablely unprofessional and the place looks like a halfway house. When I called to inform them that we would be staying elsewhere and would return the key in the morning because I simply will not stay somethwere without a bathroom I got a rude reply of "you need to read what you signed up for." I tried to explain to the the man, I cannot call him a gentleman as none would talk to a lady like that, that I wasn't asking for any kind of refund but I wasn't happy with the room and wouldn't be sleeping there because I am in need of a private bathroom. That was all, I wouldn't be staying and would bring back their key. Rather than an apology or a thank you for my consideration I got a snappy jerk who again told me that their place was listed as shared bathrooms and while he is oh so happy to hear that I am getting married, leave the key on the nightstand when we go. Frankly I wasn't setting foot in the place after my fiance's description of the facility and stayed at another place. We drove out the next morning to drop off the key were met by a locked front door and a guy peering out at us. I tapped on the window andheld up the key and he opened the door. I handed him the key and he closed the door in my face. I knocked and asked for a receipt (so I can be sure they aren't charging me for more than a closet without a bathroom or some rediculous cancellation fee for not sleeping there) and was told "well I'm not the manager but I am gonna go give him your key." I said that I would really likea reciept and he said he couldn't do that and closed the door again. I rationalized that I had paid through Orbitz so they didn't have my financial information and that my cahrge ca

We were visiting our daughter's family nearby & needed only sleeping accommodations; for this, the hotel room was adequate. Shared bathrooms meant cold showers at times. Rooms had sinks. We lodged there 1 week, and our room was tended to and bed made only the first day, which was a surprise. This is not a classy hotel, but the price was right. It had no amenities other than fresh fruit, coffee and muffins in the foyer each morning. Guests were generally courteous about keeping noise at a minimum after 10 p.m., helpful as the small rooms were thin-walled. Manager friendly.

This was a great exprerience. The hotel was extremely affordable and in a great location. The manager was personable and readily available on location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only thing for us was that there were shared bathrooms but they were clean, private, and enough that there was no conflict in timing. Overall it was a quiet, relaxing place.

Recently we've had the pleasure of staying at the Raymond Hotel. The hotel was very clean, and the manager is friendly. The hotel is walking distance from movie theaters, markets, and restaraunts. Our room was neat and clean, with a good size Tv with lots of channels. Theres also a sink and a small fridge. The bathrooms are shared, but theres a Ladies-Only bathroom/shower that is very secure. In the morning theres pastries out which I found nice, and theres also Wireless Internet available. Overall, considering the low price, we found this place to be of great value. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I work in the LA area during the week and was attracted to the Raymond Hotel by the low price. I thought I would get what I paid for, but I found out the hotel was a great value. The manager was very accommodating and friendly. Wireless internet, TV, refrigerator, and sink are available in the rooms. The rooms are clean and quiet. I felt safe at night or walking around the neighborhood. There is a Target and a Fresh and Easy in walking distance if I needed food or toiletries. The location was great to get just about anywhere in the LA area.

For the price, this is a great place to stay right outside of LA. The bathrooms were shared but they have a women's only option, there are breakfast snacks and coffee every morning, lots of TV channels and I found many great places to eat close by. Not only that it is a great option if you have a car and plan to spend time in LA--for $37 a night you can't beat it.

when i entered the hotel a guy was checking out po.n on the enterance public computer. the clerk was drunk it took me 40 mins to find him. he couldn't walk straight kept falling down. there is only one bathroom and they were not clean. the price is good but but the rest is a disaster.
