Spa and Wellness area has its doors open for guests and offers an oasis of suites and luxury facilities (paid services), for example indoor and vitality pool, a Finnish sauna, an ice pool, a heated stone bed relaxation zone, a cardiovascular fitness and weight station, a Turkish steam sauna, a Far Eastern-style mud bath, an igloo with ice fountain and 10 treatment rooms with an extensive treatment list. The studio apartment was a little dated but it was perfect for what we wanted, and once outside the apartment the rest of the resort very modern and stunning

Very well located in the village, with excellent restaurants and supermarket within 5 mins walk. The hotel gardens are superb. The standard room tarif is not cheap,but we got a good deal on a studio room, which had self catering facilities as well as being as large and comfortable. The only negative is that our fridge should have been defrosted at least a year ago! We pre-booked a hire car from the airport. Give yourself time to get used to steep gradients and unprotected falls of several hundred feet! Public transport is OK but not that frequent. Use the free hotel bus to Funchal- parking is a nightmare. Overall, an excellent place to stay. Hotel food very good but expensive (especially breakfast at E17) So many of the new hotels are very isolated; this one is ideally situated and throws in your personal botanical garden. I object to their car park charge, even thoughit is only E2 per night, but I think they will be seeing us again.

beautiful locationA short stay only two nights. The reception staff were very helpfull. We arrived just before 10pm & we were told the supermarket shuts at 10pm.This meant we could get some drinks for the evening. The room, an older studio was large & airy. There are pots, plates etc so you could eat in if required. The hotel gardens & pool were stunning.The town has three good restaraunts & cafes (good for breakfast).A nice place to stay for a few days.

A splendid break at Quinta SplendidaFrom the moment we arrived we received a friendly and well informed attitude from all the staff. The garden/grounds were an abolute delight, like being in a real botanical garden. Our room was large and well appointed although slightly dated by modern standards. Altogther a wonderful stay, would certainly return without any hesitation.

Outstanding location, the gardens and views were second to none. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Also close to centre of Canico, excellent bakers and supermarket within 2 minutes if self catering. Excellent free courtesy bus to Funchal only 15 minutes away. Rooms slightly dated from a decorative perspective.

It was my birthday over the stay, the staff noticed this and left a bottle of Cava of the room which was lovely of them. The spa facilities in this hotel are also to die for. Very pleasent stay

Don't believe anything that is written about this hotel, it's better than that !I used to think these reviews were written by friends and family of the owners, this one certainly isn't and I'm Mr Demanding. A brilliant hotel with great staff, facilities and fantastic surroundings. Never written a review before but had to after visiting La Quinta.
