Local tips: Porta Nova Hotel is in a privileged position only 200 metres from the River Gilao, 3 km from the sea and the paradise island that is Tavira. A 5 minute walk will take you to the historic centre of the town as well as bars, shops, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment. There are restaurants and bars on both sides of the river which are easily reached by crossing the roman bridge. There is even an Irish pub and an Indian Restaurant.
