We found the Palomar to be very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and the location was close to many restaurants. The local restaurant (Urbana) was a bit overpriced for the value. The Metro was within a 10 minute walk or less and we got around town for around $20 for 4 days. We would go back again.

Hotel and room was clean and hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Decor was a bit untraditional, but unique. For business travelers the accomidations in the room were great, free wireless internet, power outlets built into the desk and comfortable chairs. The fitness center was great with new equipment and a large selection of dumb bells (fitness center phone didn't work which could be a concern for those exercising alone). My biggest issues were the 38.00 per day parking fee which we did not expect and the fact that the bed was not at all comfortable. I had to put the long pillow between the mattress and box spring on my side to keep from falling off the bed. Dupont Circle has a very diverse crowd - kids may have a few questions for you that you may not be prepared to address. All in all we had a great time in DC, but will opt to try somewhere else next time.

We spent a week sightseeing in D.C. and chose the Hotel Palomar because we had stayed at another Kimpton property before; we had a great time and found the hotel to be stylish and modern and staff to be incredibly helpful and dedicated to making our stay perfect. The hotel may be a little more geared to the business traveler but there were many fellow tourists staying in the hotel and we never felt out of place. The Palomar staff went out of their way to provide amazing service at every opportunity -- from recommending and directing us to great places to eat nearby to printing out our boarding passes for the trip home. Although we left our dog at home, the Palomar is very dog-friendly (there are even water bowls of varying heights out front for dogs of any size). We enjoyed the wine tasting in the lobby on the nights we actually made it back from sightseeing in time to imbibe. The hotel is located in Dupont Circle just a few blocks away from the Metro stop. Dupont Circle is a very vibrant area and there are many dining options within several blocks of the hotel. We had an amazing trip to D.C. and especially enjoyed our stay at the Palomar with its incredible staff. We are already recommending Hotel Palomar to family planning a trip to D.C. in the near future!

Spacious, clean, andgreat location. Small lobby. Very nice and contemporary. Would definitely stay there again. It's was very spacious - great for working but very nicely appointed for leisure travelers too. The location is wonderful - great restaurants nearby, fun for walking and people watching.

Hotel Palomar is part of the Kimpton Hotel group and has its trademark swankiness and youthful elegance. The lobby is stylish and comfortable, and the guest room was decorated in dark-wood tones, medium-sized, and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant (which I did not try) and a hip bar with friendly bar tenders. I would stay here again.

The entire staff was friendly, polite, and accomodating. The hotel is centrailly located in Dupont Circle, just a short 2 blocks from the Metro. There are many great restaurants in the area or just a short walk from Georgetown and the DC Centrai Business District. The rooms were very large, which made for a comfortable family experience. The pool was a little cool, but very refreshing after a long day sightseeing. And finally--the evening beer/wine reception was a perfect addition to our stay. We'd definately stay again!

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at. They had cozy bathrobes and even cozy socks to use and it made us feel at home. Cabs waited outside and the city transportation was not far. The Conciere' took care to direct us to the best sightseeing companies and modes of transportation. The hotel is fabulous and I would love to stay there again.

Hotel Palomar in the Dupont Circle area has spacious comfortable beds and many extras--free newspapers at your door and a complimentary happy hour daily from 5-6PM. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I was just as satisfied on my second stay as my first!

Hotel very nice overall Pros: Good location, approx 8 min walk to Dupont Circle metro station, very clean, nice size room, quiet room, friendly staff, good TV in room, nice work area in room for laptop computer, free wireless internet in room, good houskeeping Cons: probably a little too high end for kids (very artsy-fartsy), on-site restaurant expensive and small portions, room door would not close fully on its own and was left open by houskeeping, shower water pressure POOR, no exhaust fan in bathroom, room very dark, concierge never returned call to help plan trip agenda

The hotel was very nice, but unfortunately VERY NOISY !!! the guests next to us at 7am were up and about talking very loudly getting their children ready and slamming the door over and over again ! I don't know if being close to the elevator was a good idea either.

Location west of Dupont Circle's metro station and Connecticut Avenue's restaurants & shopping (not to mention the fabulous Phillips Gallery's 20th century art collection) are enough to make it a top choice but the cool moderne styling and the incredibly warm, friendly and helpful staff take it to the next level. The restaurant/bar attracts locals as well as visitors. Overall, despite murky water from the tap in the middle of the night, and hearing a little too much from a neighboring room through a connecting door, this hotel provides excellent value.

This was a great stay from arrival to the check out. The staff at this upscale boutique hotel are super attentive and friendly. They go out of their way to accomodate. Within 10 minutes of our check in, we were called by staff and offered help to ease into our vacation. The staff were excellent at every turn. The coffee in the morning in the lobby is the perfect way to start the day, with a little walk around the neighborhood. A daily wine tasting in the evening is a nice touch that transforms the lobby to a cafe/bar, the right mix of conversation and chatter. It is located nearly adjacent to Rock Creek Park, 15 minutes from Georgetown, and nearly on Dupont Circle. We stayed over a weekend and enjoyed the market on Dupont Circle, used the METRO (2 blks) and taxis to get around town. We never rented a car but may next time, just to get further out into Virginia and Maryland at our leisure. Service was outstanding, location excellent. It was a superb value ... we will definitely return. No accident everyone raves about this place.

The Hotel Palomar was just about perfect. I went to DC to visit a friend and we were both very pleased with the decor, the service, and the overall feel of the hotel. The wine tasting (5 to 6 every day) was a great bonus. We were even upgraded to a King Suite for no extra charge! My only nit picky complaint was that the pool was smaller than I expected and was overrun with kids during my visit. It was still very nice and granted, I was there on 4th of July weekend so I imagine it's not the norm. Still, had a great time and would highly recommend. The sushi place across the street and up the stairs is great and the falafel place on the corner is very good for a quick cheap bite. If you're out late, there's a pizza place across the street that stays open till the wee hours.

The hotel was excellent in all respects, beginning with the doormen, check in staff and especially our room accommodations. Our only regret was going out for brunch on Saturday instead of trying it at the hotel. In summary, would return to that hotel for next visits.

This hotel seems more like a European spa than the usual hotel experience. The decor is modern and attractive. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and tasteful. It's in the Dupont Circle area, so lots of restaurants, etc., and close to the attractions of the city. And, it's affordable!
