The hotel car park was completely full and people had parked on grass and double yellow lines because there was no spots available. It seems to me they allow people to leave their vehicles and take a flight on holiday and this appears more important to them - I went round car park a dozen times before I just dumped my car. The service at reception is awful

We thought the Hotel was lovely, great value for money and a spacious family room. We had great breakfastes and had one evening meal, which was also good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only one small negative comment, we slept of the side at the front of the Hotel and as it was hot and we had four eople sleeping in our room we had our windows open and a couple of nights our sleep was interrupted by peolple outside making quite a lot of noise. One night was a wedding reception, so that was understandable but the other night not sure what was going on. Apart from this our stay was perfect, we were very happy with everything and would definitely recommend your Hotel. My sister and husband also stayed at the Hotel, and were also satisfied.

Newcastle Novotel family roomAn excellent room with ideal facilities for the family.The pool and gym were much appreciated and well used by my group.At last we have found an affordable room in Newcastle where we can sleep on a Saturday night without fear of loud parties next door.

surprisedwhen i booked at late rooms i wasn't expecting anything really nice just really basic but when we got there we were really surprised it was big and really better than the pics we saw. the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only down side was the price of breakfast i wouldn't and my freinds agreed that £12 per head is too much when next door they charge much less.

Beware the extra costs!One of the more expensive "Late Rooms" booked! Very clean and modern although all we could see from an upgraded room was a mini-fridge with contents extortionally charged, don't bother. Breakfast very good but expensive and just when you think it's all over they sting you with a £5.00 per day parking fee! Problems with the room when a light bulb exploded, dread to think if I was in room before switching on, and electricity tripped out again next day. Beware! Tip: Use the Carvery next door for reasonably priced evening meal.

Convenient for Newcastle airport

Weekend trip to watch rugby in NewcastleBrilliant location for us as we flew in to Newcastle Airport, caught the metro from the airport and after a 10 min ride and 15 min walk we were at the hotel. The walk to Kingston Park (rugby ground) was also only about 20 mins away. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on this. We also didn't have chance to use the pool. Staff really friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again. Very restful and peaceful stay.

Very efficient check in and out and well appointed room, unfortunately with some traffic noiseAlthough not requested, we were allocated a specially adapted room for those with special needs. Well appointed, spotlessly clean and very good value for money. An extra advantage was the airport shuttle service which left promptly. One minor criticism was the softness of the bed, a firmer mattress is a matter of personal preference so cannot be too critical in this regard.

Overall hotel was good but didnt have breakfast as it was very expensive at £12.95 and also was digusted that you have to pay for the carpark, £5 per day!!!!

Every little extra helps...Novotel might look cheap on the packet but once inside, you can expect to pay for every little extra. At the Newcastle Airport site, for example, car parking is extra, there's no complimentary bottle of water in your room, logging on to the internet via the TV costs, breakfast is extra and the food turns up as a microwave mish-mash of the most ordinary kind. If you want to feel like Alan Partridge in Hatfield Travel Lodge, yep, this is the one to go for.Oherwise, stay well clear

ServiceI did not dine at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. I did not receive the newspaper I had ordered - however reception informed me that it had been left outside the room. My conclusion was that someone had taken it. They were extremely apologetic, to the extent that they fetched another Times for me. Excellent service!

Extra costI thought with spending money on a room i would have had free parking, It was £5 for 24 hours, We never ate at the hotel either as i thought the prices in there for eating was a bit expensive too. Example is breakfast is £12.95 EACH

This hotel exceeded my expectations - I was after just a bog standard room to dtay in after a night out in Newcastle. The room was more than standard, very comfortable & clean.Other services, food & drink were very pricey though.
