Great hotel in central Bristol, easy walking distance to many attractions, Banksy exhibition about 15 minutes away. Very good room, spacious with excellent bathroom. All in all a good experience at a very good price.

Staying at Novotel for the Bristol Carnival !Hotel was nice and friendly, we stayed in a Superior Room, it was clean, not a bad size with plenty of light, windows that actually opened and air conditioning (was a hot night). Carpet looked a little tired and the orange cushions looked cheap but mostly everything was fine. Breakfast in bed arrived precisely on time and was delicious. Nice modern bathroom with lovely deep bath (worked wonders on my hangover).

Average let down by serviceNovotel hotels, like the Ibis and Premier Inn, are usually fine - average but fine, and reasonable value. This was no exception, only the staff were chaotic and unhelpful. Phoning for directions, booking a cab, ordering breakfast: these simply tasks were all messed up. An okay experience but I wouldn't repeat it.

Short stay in BristolWe were given a very good room on the 4th floor of the hotel. The bathroom facilities were very good and it was linked to a spacious bedroom. Just down from the room was a well equipped small gym which was used, the only disadvantage of this facility was the sauna which was not on.Breakfast next day was delicious and filling. The staff were courtious and helpful.

Novotel Bristol recommendedStaff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Enjoyed the very clean gym and steam room. Perhaps the only downside was that Internet services were an extra charge but that seems to be a business model for this group. Good buffet breakfast. Good value overall. Recommended.

Really pleased with this hotelNothing to fault about this hotel. A group of us were going to a wedding in Bristol and just wanted a cheap hotel for the night, but it was much better than I expected. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us check in early so we could get dressed up. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfy. The location was quite quiet, more for business than leisure, but walkable into the centre. The breakfast was great and served from 7am-12pm on Sunday, which suited us all (both those with hangovers and nippers). Overall, very pleased and would definitely recommend to others.

Novotel Bristol reviewThe hotel was of an excellent standard overall. Our room was a good size and it was very clean with an excellent bathroom and all the facilities we required. The price of the room was a little expensive but does compare favourably with other hotels. The main downside was the very expensive food and drink in the hotel (as a result we ate out) but that was the only real complaint.

No sleep till Cornwall...We used this hotel as a halfway point between the North east and Cornwall. Arriving at 10pm we were dismayed to find that our 2nd floor room bed was vibrating due to music from a function room on the ground floor. Reception was dealing with more than one complaint about the music but were ineffectual in reducing noise levels. Refusing to move us (I think so many people had moved they were out of rooms) and completely ignoring my request for a refund (the option of trying to find an alternative hotel at midnight was preferable to staying there and suffering the music) the reception night staff were rude and unhelpful.Otherwise a standard Novotel, standard room standard breakfast.£69 for an overnight but with little to no sleep this wasn't good value.NOT IMPRESSED!

no smoking room? The room was very clean but there was a lingering smell of ashtray even though the room was clearly marked as no smoking.

Novotel quality but out-dated staff attitudesWe've stayed here several times as the hotel is central to the areas we visit. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. We booked a double room (as two guys) but the person at check-in seemed to think that we should have a room with two beds. If that's what we'd wanted we would have booked it. A more modern attitude or greater discretion would have been preferred. The days of having to check-in as Mr and Mrs Smith are long-gone...surely ?

Good hotelI have stayed at The Novotel in Bristol many times over the past maybe 5 years. It is a very nice hotel and one of the good things is the fact that there is parking provided, although not so good is the payment of £8 (it used to be free). The hotel is near to the city centre and train station. The breakfast is good with plenty of choice. The beds are comfortable. The traffic at the front can be noisy all night if you want the window open, quiet if window closed.
