The hotel is on the best location for sightseeing in Yokohama, facing the bay of Yokohama overlooking Yamashita Park, between Motomachi and Minato-Mirai district. China Town is just two blocks away and other sightssing spots are also within walking distance. It is also convenient to go outside the area. It takes one minute walk from Motomachi Chukagai station on Minatomirai Subway line that directly connects with Yokohama station in 10 minutes, or Shibuya Station in 40 minutes. It takes 15 minutes by car from Yokohama Station.
This authentic classical hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Japan. An old main building is one of the memorial and historical buildings in Yokohama. The hotel is suitable for leisure travelers looking around Yokohama area and also is recommendable to business travelers who would like to be based in Yokohama area but would like to be in relaxing environment before and after work.
It is composed of two building, the main and New Grand Tower. Both stand facing to Yamashita-Park and connected each other by a corridor inside. But each building has quite different characteristic. The main is a few stories historical landmark and New Grand Tower is a modern, 18-storey building.
All rooms in "New Grand Tower" are large with harbor view through from big window from-head-to-toe hight. All have warm atomosphere with blight color scheme and sunlight taken from large window. A high-speed internet access can be available in some rooms. CNN channel is available. Sink with triple mirro is separated from bathroom and has ample space. Bathroom is kept in good condition.
The reception and guest relation desk are located on the ground floor of New Grand Tower. The marbled floor and flower arrangement in the centre create elegant atmosphere. The bell desk located between the entrance and the reception are happy to give guests information for sightseeing in the area. The main building lobby has a stately marble corridor leading to the banqueting floor.
There are six restaurants, lounges and bars in this hotel. At the main dining, guests are able to enjoy French cuisine as well as panoramic view of Yokohama Bay. The Italian restaurant, facing the courtyard, provides 80 different pasta dishes. The cafe opens from lunchtime to late evening without a break. It has warm atmosphere with wooden table. The Japanese restaurant provides fine Sushi or Kaiseki course menu for lunch and dinner. The lounge and the bar cannot be missed while guests' stay, where a relaxing moment is guaranteed on afternoon or after dinner. The lounge serves nice selections of tea and sweets in cozy interior. The bar is proud of several original cocktail recipes.
