Description:
Smoke Free Hotel Amidst Tacoma's rejuvenated downtown, the new Hotel Murano has launched a hotel experience unseen internationally. With glass art gathered from international artists; high design; luxury amenities, such as an iPod Menu and Spiritual Menu; and an ideal location, the Murano will quench one's thirst for art and convenience. From its exterior entrance where Costas Varotsos (internationally renowned artist) has built a large-scale masterpiece of glass conveying water and the horizon to the interior where art is deeply integrated in function and design, the hotel stimulates anyone's artistic sense. Sophistication meets warmth with flat-screen televisions and iPod docking stations for sleek lounging, glass-topped vanities, custom, hand-blown bedside lamps, only-the-most luxurious beds and scrumptiously self-indulgent linens, along with clean contrasting colors, providing an artful and comforting experience after a long day of travel. With Bite restaurant and our lobby bar, the hotel is the center of social and business activity in the Tacoma area. The downtown Hotel Murano is located steps away from the museum district and the theater district, and immediately adjacent to the Tacoma Convention Center. It is only 20 minutes from Sea-Tac International Airport and 10 more to Seattle. More than 40 artists from around the world are showcased in the hotel from the lobby to the guest rooms making every step in the hotel an artful journey. As its intent, the Murano will educate and inspire guests with the vast depths of international talent and the individual artist journeys taken to create. On every guest room floor, the visitor is greeted with a highlighted artist, his or her story and a final masterpiece. A walk down the corridor and into the guest rooms shows the inspiration and process for the featured piece of art. Jacuzzi and Sauna are currently under renovation.

Super looking hotel with a cool vibe. Staff efficient, if not chummy. Stayed overnight to see International Museum of Glass and the glass in Union Station. Rooms average size with usual amenities. I would stay here again if visiting Tacoma and willing to try another hotel by this group.

Beautiful, Modern, Convenient, All the amenities you could ask for. Parking Fees. Also, Valet parked my car once for one night it was $19. Hotel Murano is beautiful. Great if headed to the Tacoma Dome, as we were. We just walked a block to the light rail which took us straight there. The hotel is so refreshing and modern, everything that I like, it provided. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to all!

The overall trip was less than average. What I did not like about my stay was the robes were hard and crunchy as if they had been left out to air dry. The hotel gift shop had the feel of a late night 7/11. It was dirty and the staff was not helpful. I ordered room service for dinner and the menu was limited. I ordered the Crab ravioli and my pasta was under cooked. Had I had the time to send it back I would have. The cable in the room was in and out all night long so I couldn't watch a show in its entirety. My bath tub had the previous person's body hair, I could have done without that! The front desk was very pleasant and kind. Maybe my stay wasn't that great because I had a bottom of the line room. But that's all I could afford and I feel like I got ripped off.

This is a breautiful hotel. Contemporary theme, without being cold or sterile. The staff was attentive, even when obviously very busy. The rooms are nicely appointed, with very comfy beds and baths filled with the liitle extras that make you feel pampered. Room service was prompt and courteous, the food at the right temperature, and tasty. Each floor features a different glass artist, and it was fun to go floor to floor, to view these unique works, with room keycards making elevator passes. the keycards were unique and on checkout can be kept as a remembrance of your stay. Checkout was quick and painless. A small billing error was quickly and courteously taken care of. The only fly in the ointment was a doorman who couldn't be bothered to help 2 ladies open the heavy front door while laden with luggage. This unique boutique-style hotel will be first on my list of reccommendations for the area, and I look forward to my next stay.

We enjoyed a 1-night stay at The Hotel Murano. Our room on an upper floor offered a partial view to the north over downtown Tacoma and Commencement Bay. We sampled room service for a light afternoon meal and ordered again for breakfast the next morning. The service was prompt and friendly. The quality king-bed, sheets, pillows and covers/comforter provided the essentials for a great night of sleep. The room was large enough to visit with friends, relax on the chase lounge, or work at the desk. Access to the floor(s) is controlled by a card reader in the elevator; corridor noise was not a nighttime distraction. The hotel's main entrance on Broadway does not include a covered area for entry sidewalks or for the load/unload parking. I'm glad it wasn't raining when we arrived or when we departed.

It was comfortable, hip and in a great location. The room service was terrible. All of our orders were wrong and some of the food was cold.

This Hotel was newly remodeled and though most people I talked to in the Seattle area had no Idea where this Hotel was (I believe it was renamed as well as remodeled) The appearance of the hotel and rooms is exactly as pictured. Having the pillow menu and spiritual menu was an interesting touch. The amenities offered on the Patron Level (25th floor) included free continential breakfast and wine hour. Room service was exceptional though the food choices are a bit limited. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone traveling to the Tacoma area, staff gave excellent city information, especially regarding getting to the Tacoma Dome from the Hotel the easiest and least expensive way.

I had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Murano. I arrived early from a cruise to Alaska and the hotel staff made no complaint about an early check-in. The room was very modern and comfortable. It sits on a hill and there is a good view of the Tacoma harbor and downtown area. Though I was there for only one night, I would surely like to stay there again.

It was very artsy and cool - very modern. The place if full of glass art. Very cool, the drinks were good/strong. If you want a night away with the significant other - great. Not a place I would bring kids.

Stayed for a short business trip. Hotel was beautiful. Got a discount at the spa for being a hotel guest. If you stay here, you have to get a spa treatment.

My Bed was lumpy & I was only able to get 3 hrs of sleep on it due to my discomfort. My companion felt like his was very comfy. If you have back issues don't choose the dbl beds because the one I had was terrible. Hotel was very clean, staff was very nice. The setting in the Hotel was very posh. Upscale style without the snob attitude. Staff friendly & helpful. Bathrooms beautiful, Rooms are very quiet & great views from the windows! I would stay again if they got new beds.

Our stay at the hotel was one of the best. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and they were great. When we went to our room the safe wasn't working and the staff tried everything possible to make it work. When lt didn't work we were upgraded to the 25th floor. We were more than impressed. The staff helped us move and told us of all the amnities we would have. Whenever we left the hotel or arrived, we were always greeted. Coming from the south, this ment a lot for us. The hotel was always clean and the artwork was impressive. If we ever return to Washington, the hotel Murano will be our choice.

The decor in the rooms and the lobby were very chic, artistic, and interesting. The music playing in all of the common areas (lobby, restaurant) was loud with a fast beat electronica, very unpleasant! It made me want to leave! The employees were friendly, the spaces were beautiful and in good condtion. I didn't expect to find such a chic stylish place in Tacoma.

What a delightful hotel. I had not been to Tacoma for many years, and was surprised by the rebirth. We were there for a relative's graduation from University of Pugent Sound, and found the hotel to be in the heart of downtown. It was easy to walk to a variety of restaurants, and to all of the art glass now vivid in Tacoma. As a glass artist myself, I enjoyed the hotel since it felt like it's own art glass museum. Each floor is dedicated to a different glass artist, and we enjoyed our own tour, floor by floor of the pieces of art. The rooms were decorated with a wonderful sense of modern style, yet was comfortable enough for my ten year old to feel at home. I may not bring my younger children to the hotel, since there were some breakable (but beautiful) lamps in the room! We all loved the robes you can wear for your vacation!! I am used to paying San Francisco prices for hotels, and this fantastic hotel was quite a bargain in comparison! Would certainly stay there again, and I might stay there even if our trip was to Seattle, it is just 30 minutes away.

An excellent boutique hotel! Given the start level, they could use better linens on the beds. Excellent overall quality. A wonderful showcase for the glassworks of the Tacoma area in conjunction with the museum of glass.

This hotel is a gem for those who appreciate beautiful artwork. The entrance is full of work from the artisans featured at the Museum of Glass. Each floor of the hotel also showcases a piece from a different artist. The fitness center is state of the art. The d?cor of my suite was contemporary and polished. The evening view of the Tacoma skyline was also nice. However, I do have a couple of complaints about my stay. I attempted to contact the front desk several times to schedule a wake-up call, but received a busy signal each time. I eventually had to call from an outside line to reach someone. In addition to that, the call came 15 minutes late the next morning. Also, during the middle of the night, another guest tried to enter my room. Because I had locked the door with the swing bar door guard, the other guest couldn?t enter the room. When I asked the other guest what was going on, she stated that we had been assigned the same room number. The next morning when I attempted to check out, the clerk stated that I was a ?no show? and couldn?t be checked out because I never checked in. (This explains why they assigned my room to another guest.) The clerk was apologetic for the mishaps and eventually checked me out. Although the service can certainly be improved, the quality and cleanliness of each room was good.

Convenient to the glass museum and other museums - easy to get around. Nice hotel. Easy access to glass museum and other museums, antique stores, convention center, eateries, etc. Took our glass of wine and wandered the floors to look at each glass artist that they have on display. One of our travelers had stayed here before the renovation was complete and thought they had done an excellent job.

Cool decor, nice flat screen TV. Food was medium. Rooms were nicer than the lobby.
