Retro cool! Lounge turns into a night club at 9:00 pm. Very noisy until 2:30 am. I've stayed here in the past and love this quaint little boutique hotel. New owners made the lounge into a night club through the tough economy, but I have to say the noise level on my floor was horrible. Could've been the group of guests that just happened to have been there that weekend.

Recently stayed at the Hotel Montgomery with my teen daughter while attending a concert close by at the San Jose State University event center. Love the hotel's close proximity to the event center, valet parking, and over all look. The room was small but very clean, modern, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The pillows were great and there were lots of them. The linens were high end and everything had a "HM" on it, classy touch. I thought we were going to hear noise from the traffic or from the airport which is fairly close by but we hear NOTHING! Great, restful, and quite night! The staff was warm and helpful, Overall a wonderful experience.

I was very pleased with the quality of the hotel and the service. The workout room was a bit small, but all I need is the treadmill so it worked out fine. I missed dinner the first night because there was no room service after 9:00 when I arrived. There were restaurants nearby where I could have gone. The location, right across the street from the federal courthouse, was a great convenience for me. I will not hesitate to book again when I have another court date in the future. However, the location would work just as well for leisure trips. I highly recommend.

Beautifully appointed room and great service/staff. Older building in downtown location (view of apartment building next door) and elevators are slow. Think it is a 3.5. Completely renovated rooms. Monogrammed sheets and towels. Staff is fantastic. Love these smaller intimate hotels vs. the large ones.

This was a very nice, neat, and clean hotel however my room was very small. This was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in and parking was expensive. This is the normal price range I stay in however, I was surprised to find out I didn't have full cable channels. Which the only reason I noticed was I wanted to watch a show I normally watch on VH1 and they didn't have it. However, I got HBO. I thought was strange. BEWARE of the breakfast bar, it looks free but it's not and it's OVER PRICED!! They put the price menu kinda off to the side so you don't notice it. I fell victim to their trick and so did two other people while I was in the lobby. Don't count on using the business center... computers didn't work.

Very nice, close to everything, very clean, high quality. No hot tub, pool or breakfast buffet. Went to activity at convention center. Great, convenient location. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very deluxe, clean and comfortable hotel.

Room was small but well appointed. Overall, staff was friendly. I appreciated the nice restaurant and bar at the Paragon. A nice place to relax at te end of the day. Downside - It appears that they have very limited front desk staff. All three times, and on separate occasions with at least 3 hour gaps between them, was I not able to get a hold of the front desk.

The Montgomery was everything advertised. The rooms were beautifully appointed and spacious. When the desk learned it was our first time at the Montgomery, they offered to upgrade our room to a King complimentary. A very nice surprise. The parking price was an unpleasant surprise -- just be aware, 20/day for guest parking. The front desk staff was very informative regarding local dining. We didn't use the Paragon as its hours did not fit with our schedule. However, there are some very lovely eateries just across the street for late night dinners and late morning breakfasts!

Had a CD player and a hookup and speakers for iPod! Room view, also room felt a little cramped, but still nice. Perfectly set in San Jose, hotel staff is top notch very friendly and helpful, beautifully decorated, very romantic, free wireless internet, iPod hookup in the room, luxurious bathroom.

The only draw back was the lack of room service for breakfast (they do deliver a continental) or lunch. The bar/restaurant is great! Rooms - great! Desk people - great! Central to lots of activity. It will be our main San Jose hotel.

The interior design of the room was exquisite! The rooms were are the smaller side. Love this hotel! Will definitely stay again.

I just stayed in San Jose to watch a hockey game and found the Montgomery to be a perfect location. Walking distance to several great places, but the Paragon bar/restaurant inside the hotel was fabulous as well. Rooms were clean, staff was great. Parking was a little steep and the noise around the hotel is sometimes bothersome due to the bustling area. All in all I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel.

Centrally located, lovely bathroom. Pretentious hotel. Room was small and noisy (we were above the entrance to the hotel).

Overall presentation, appearance, and location. N/A. Located downtown near many restaurants and European bakery, and locations serving fish.

Staff is very helpful. Hotel is right downtown, where I wanted to be. The shower did not work properly. I have stated at the Montgomery a couple of times, and it is a very good property. It is much smaller than the Hilton or Crowne Plaza, which, for me is a plus.

Its history to the Downtown area and its renewal. Parking a little confusing and inconvenient for self park. NA.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Montgomery. I was in town for a conference and this hotel is in a great location. It is small but stylish and has a very cool outdoor seating area. The honor bar in the rooms is stocked with all sorts of fantastic treats.

Attractive room, good food. Would have liked a King bed instead of a Queen but had not requested one. A little different, in a good way. Friendly staff, attractive room, had a great dinner in the restaurant, good location for Downtown San Jose.

"The Hotel Montgomery is located directly in the heart of downtown close to many different resources from arts to dining. The Front Desk staff was awesome, they attended to my every need and some. The rooms were perfectly clean and stylish, which made me want to never leave the room. A must stay, I would recomend this place to any one who is tired of plain old hotels."

Friendly staff, clean hotel, good location, easy access to freeway. Artificial chocolate armona in registration area. Many people are allergic. Not good. This was a very nice little hotel. Excellent staff. The rooms were a little small and the bathroom sink was very poorly designed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The towels, although absorbent, were entirely too rough. We do not appreciate the extra charges for using their parking lot, or any other hotel's parking facilities.
