Opening in June 2009, the centrally located Hotel Missoni is the first property to be unveiled in this exciting new hotel brand. Designed by Rosita Missoni herself, the hotel will combine the unique style of the Italian fashion house with the experience of the Rezidor Hotel Group. The 'bold, forthright and dramatic' interiors are decorated in black and white with splashes of intense colour. Guest accommodation is offered in the form of rooms and suites, some with spectacular views over Edinburgh and the Royal Mile. Work out in the fitness suite after a day's shopping or sight-seeing - then relax with a cocktail in Bar Missoni; or visit the Italian inspired restaurant Cucina where 'fresh', 'seasonal' and 'authentic' dishes are created. A nice new hotel in an excellent location, however a bit OTT, plastic and tacky in appearance in the both public areas and the bedroom. Standard double room was awfully small for the very high rate charged. Will return to my usual choice of The Scotsman when staying in Edinburgh in future.

Hotel MissoniThis is the most beautiful, comfortable hotel we have ever stayed in, the reception was extremely warm and welcoming, the rooms were very well equiped, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! I will definetly be back to stay again.

CAR PARKING!!Problems with car parking, was advised there were limited spaces while other new guests were given spaces no problem by the other receptionist without pre-booking a space, it also costs £10 more than advertised on the website and does not mention the need to pre-book... So pre-booking a parking space is a must!The decor and rooms were outstanding and the location is ideal to take in the sights.

We did plan to eat in the hotel restaurant on the day of arrival however the menu was very limited which forced us to go out for dinner elsewhere.

New Kid on the Block.The Missoni's location, 100 yards from the Castle Esplanade at the top of the Royal Mile, couldn't be better. They opened only a couple of weeks ago, but seem well sorted out already, with friendly, extremely helpful staff, and modern funky rooms with cutting edge Italian design throughout.I'll certainly stay there if visiting Edinburgh again.
