A great find...Really happy with Hotel Meurice....we literally came in around midnight and left at 8am so were rapt to see a small but spotlessly clean, cosy comfortable room. Loved that they have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make the rooms feel cosy and have a nice ambience. Slept beautifully and felt very refreshed for our long drive the next day. Customer service was great and we were in and out very quickly. Free parking on the street made it easy.

Don't be put off by the street - in effect the hotel carpark - or the exterior. This is a privately-owned neo-Edwardian gem with character. Super food and service. Period style, but thoughtful modern touches. E.G: wacky automated self-service breakfast, which worked well, and lovely old bathroom basins and taps fitted with ceramic valves. We shall use it again.

a special hotelthe public rooms are in a" faded glory" sort of style which makes this hotel different. the bedroom and en-suite were very clean and comfortable. it is only a few minutes walk to shoppin and ,restaurants . we would certainly stay at this hotel again because it is memorable. we ate in the restaurant one evening and the menu was varied. the food was fresh and enjoyable

Hotel Meurice - It's ok.We only used this as a base for one night. It was a comfortable room but whoever cleaned it left behind a few things from the previous occupants. We did not go for breakfast because 14 euros each for breakfast struck us as being an extravagance we didn't fancy. The decor is classy but needs a bit of a refurbishment but we didn't care because for one night only it did us just fine. the receptionists were fine, frinedly and helpful.

Lovely stay at Hotel MeuriceStayed here for 2 nights on 9th and 10th may. Looked into Holiday Inn, but chose this one , and glad we did. Its located in a quiet street in calais with a couple minutes walk to the shops. Theres loads of free parking out the front but they do have a private garage you can use at 8 euro a day if you need it. The room was very clean with nice view of the garden. Would have liked a double room, but only twin available. Decor is very old fashioned but quaint and very different which is one of the reasons why we chose it. A very good stay. Would stay again.

Excellent hotel in CalaisVery reasonable price-wise. Full of character, and extremely comfortable, we have stayed here on 3 seperate occasions now. Also very central and close to some good restaurants. They also have a beautiful Weimeraner dog to greet you at reception!

Hotel MeuriceI am sure this Hotel should be 4* plus, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the interior is like a country Manor and the room was great. It was more like a small suite than a room. Breakfast was fabulous. I just wish we had stayed for dinner one night, but did not have time.

Stopped here briefly on way through France but was a lovely hotel with very old features but at the same time was very clean. Staff seemed friendly and spoke English very well. Did not have any food as was flying visit. Room was perfect for a brief stay and bed was extremely comfy. Even got some English TV in the room! Parking was on the street outside the hotel and was free and although it looked a bit of a dodgy area (at night) it was fine. Hotel offers secure parking at a charge. Would stay again if in the area and would like to explore the hotel further.

Why rush off from the ferry or tunnel?Excellent, excellent hotel. Parking right outside for free, staff cordial, friendly and helpful, room very good. It reminds you of an old French country family run Hotel with it's antique furniture and atmosphere. Did not eat at the hotel, but slipped around the corner to the Histoire Ancienne for super gourmand meals. But the Hotel's dining room looked just great, and the bar was nice and cosy.Cannot fault this establishment - long may it prosper.

Fabulous quirky little hotel right in the middle of Calais . Very welcoming, a cosy bar and a fine mismatched collection of furniture. The place feels like it might have had a slightly disreputable past...check out the leopard skin chaise longue on the 2nd floor landing! A welcome change from anodyne bedroom factories and highly reccomended.

Fabulously beautiful hotel full of antiques. The bedroom had a huge wooden bed to climb into with crisp white linen, quality duvet and pillows. Breakfast was very good.
