Not bad for central RondaWe were looking for somewhere to end our holiday in Ronda and the Hotel Maestranza in Ronda provided us with adequate accommodation in a fantastically central spot, opposite the bullring. We have been to Ronda many times but had never stayed overnight and this is well placed on the main road through from the old town and the Pente Nueva and just behind the main square.The room was clean enough and had a very comfortable bed. We were unlucky in that we had the afterthought bathrom, ie they only thought after fitting the bedroom that they had to squeeze in a bathroom. And squeeze it in they did. Just.We were offered a room both with and without breakfast. We opted for breakfast (it only cost about another €6) and it offered good value, even if the coffee was undrinkable. And we like proper, strong, decent Spanish coffee, but this was none of those, just so you know. Customer service at the desk was very good indeed and the hotel provides a handy map with your key which is small enough to be truly portable and plastic coated to survive the excesses of the Spanish heat.The hotel also has parking which at less that €10 a day is excellent value for a city centre, althogh if unused to Spanish underground parking, you may wish to avail yourself of the valet parking, as it is very tight down there. If you're eating out, I can recommend the hotel San Javier as we have had menu del dia there a number of times over the past four or five years and is very good. We also found that the Restaurante de Arminal on the Calle de Arminal in the old town offered great menu del dia, a la carte and the tapas looked OK, too. Like most of these places, there is an air conditioned comedor or you can sit out the back in a very nice square near the town hall.If you are in the main square, on Calle Lorenzr Borrego Lopez on one of the corners, is a place called Patatin Patatan. Quite simply one of the best places we went during our holiday. It does tapas, raciones and

Great LocationEnjoyed stay in hotel.Carpet a little tired plenty of towels and toiletries.Ate in restaurant it was great they had a vegetarian set menu at 18 EurosRonda is great a must see in Spain

Having hotel parking in Ronda (9 euro/night) was a life saver, as parking on the streets is very difficult to find. The location was very central to the new city, directly across from the bull ring. Breakfast was varied, from Spanish meats and cheeses to scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff was very helpful.
