Description:
Built in 1907, the four-masted barque ship of Hotell Liseberg Barken Viking is one of only 10 of her kind left in the world. The newly-refurbished guest rooms are decorated in a maritime theme with decorative woodwork and artwork by the marine artist, Frantz Glatzl.
The former galley has been turned into a kitchen and the restaurant is named after Captain Niels Clausen, the Master of the Viking between 1926 and 1927. The menu focuses on traditional Swedish cuisine and seafood dishes. Guests can eat on deck and enjoy lighter dishes, drinks and snacks.
During summer, Barken Viking hosts musical events on deck.
Moored at Packhuskajen, Hotell Liseberg Barken Viking’s nearest neighbour is the Gothenburg’s Maritime Adventure Centre. Here, the museum consists of 19 unique vessels, boats and barges.
