nice room bad smellL'Empire is very well located for the usual Paris sights - just off the Rue Rivoli, next door to the Tuilerie Gardens. Mind you, you do pay for this location (200 Euros for a double bed in July). You also pay for its 4 star status. Is it 4 star? Our room was large and classy, with a good size bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Not sure whether the dodgy panel in the bathroom was '4 star' but there you go - looked liked a rush job by the local plumber. Our corridor on the basement floor also suffered from a foul stench. Was it the plumbing? Cheese? We were never told. But anyway, it was gone the next day. All in all, a pricy place and one I probably wouldn't pay for again - but one night was OK for the experience.

Expensive but Excellent Hotel right by the Louvre. Easy walking distance to a lot of sites and just as easy access to Metro. Good restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Skip the expensive B&B option and have a cafe and croissant at a nearby cafe.

Great locationStayed here 3-5th June. Friendly efficient staff, great location, room a little compact but still fine (classic room). A little expensive for what it is but I would stay there again.

A lovely chic hotel in the centre of Paree!We stayed at this lovely hotel last weekend when we went to Paris for a wedding. We stayed in a standard room, which was big by Parisian standards (!) and it was very clean and comfortable. The bed was huuuge and very comfortable. The staff were friendly & welcoming and the location was perfect - right next to the Louvre, and a 2 min walk from the Louvre Rivoli metro. They also provide black fuzzy slippers and dressing gowns in the rooms, always a good thing. I would definitely recommend it for couples altho it is a bit pricey ;-)

Great with earplugs...Staff were unfailingly courteous from the first contact, first impressions were of a clean, contemporary and centrally located hotel. We were upgraded to a suite (Perpignon Suite, rm 101..probably a clue there...) which was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. A superb, large and modern bathroom, a rare find in Paris, and great bedroom with a large and comfortable bed. Handy for bars, cafes, sights, buses and metro so we thought it was perfect. Bedtime revealed however that rm 101 is over the entrance hall, only one floor up, meters from Rue de Rivoli and with a large, arched window that doesn't close properly. The noise was horrendous and we spend the whole of the first night listening to the scooter grand prix up the Rivoli. Armed with earplugs the next night we slept perfectly. At full price I would have either left or asked to be moved, this one room is just ruined by the noise unless you could sleep through anything. Otherwise, it's a great place with great staff and should be tried. Just don't go for room 101!!

A really nice hotel with very attentive, helpful and charming staff. We were staying in a deluxe room which seemed reasonable value for the price we paid (€220 per night with breakfast) but the rack rate of over €800 was quite fanciful. The room was clean, modern, spacious (hard to get in Paris) with a lovely bathroom. The hotel is easy to get to via the Metro and close on foot to much of interest in Paris. We would stay again.

Room not available on arrival (230pm) despite prior assurance.Staff very friendly, helpful.Bathroom shower challenging... no curtain/shower door -- prepare for a deluge!Great location near Louvre.

Excellent location, close to the Louvre and Louvre-Rivoli Metro station which is on the main tourist line linking most our Paris's main tourist attractions. A 10 minute walk to the vibrant Latin Quarter. and under 5 minutes to Pont Neuf (and its boat tours). Large number of eateries in the local area, along with shopping heaven only a short walk away.The hotel was clean and modern, the staff were exceptional. A cup of tea in the room was £6, but a burger only £12. Breakfast is the usual continental but with hot scrambled egg, bacon and either mushrooms or potatoes, but is about £18. These sound expensive but once you experience the prices in the Paris tourist hotspots this is about normal. We paid £150 per night which I thought was a good price but wouldnt want to pay much more. Gare du Nord (Eurostar terminal) is a 10min taxi ride away and only cost about £7.

Modern hotel, bright colourful and friendly staff. Efficient checking in/out process, good location. The room was spacious which for central Paris was a surprise, will certainly stay there again. Good location too for a variety of bars, cafes and restaurants.
