The hotel is way west in the Western District, which makes it very poorly located. It is not close to the subway, and you are way out of the way for either sightseeing or business. If you are sightseeing, expect to sweat during the summer months. The location makes a trip to the hotel to shower/change clothes a real inconvenience. The hotel itself is reasonably clean, but the rooms are small. I would consider it at best a 3.5 star hotel. The views I had were absolutely attrocious. I had a room looking away from Victoria Harbour, and I ended up looking at dirty, old apartment buildings with laundry hanging outside drying. You can imagine the quality of the apartments given the tenants could not afford clothes dryers. That, too, should give you an idea of the neighborhood the hotel is in.

Hotel Signage is not easily seen from far, a more eye-catching signboard would be helpful

Very clean and quiet. Excellent service. Breakfast buffet is very good. The only negative would be the location (about 30 minutes WALK) from the action, but the public transportation is good (taxi, bus and 16 seat bus). The front desk personnel are always willing to help. They change you money or you can go to a bank right next door (but most have your passport to change money). The view from the lounge and the pool area are breathtaking. The great price and service definetely outweight the not so great location.

The staff was very attentive and knowledgable. It is a very modern hotel. The fruit in the room was a very nice touch! Great shuttle bus service to the city.

Good value Hotel for those who wish to stay away from the centre. The Hotel Mini Bus operates a good service to the main points and if this is not convenient the frequent tram service is near by, which is fun and inexpensive.

I bookended a trip to Cambodia with two day-long layovers in Hong Kong. I stayed at Hotel Jen both times and found it charming and relaxing. Located in a quiet residential area on Western Hong Kong Island, it is an ideal place to stay for those that like to eat where the locals do. In spite of its somewhat out of the way location, it is within walking distance of the Star Ferry and very close to Hollywood Rd shopping. I only ate at the Jen Cafe for breakfast, but the buffet was extensive and the food was very good. To get here from the airport, take the Airport Express Train all the way to the Hong Kong station, then take a taxi to the hotel (about HK$33, plus HK$5 per piece of luggage).

Excellent hotel at a very reasonable price. Slighty away from the main tourist areas but well linked by public transport.

Hotel Jen is located in an old and very well preserved neighborhood that remains mostly unchanged since the 1960. It is one block away from the tram service that would take you to most part of the island's busiest districts. There is no problem finding restaurants nearby that serves various local cuisines. The inside of Hotel Jen is very modern, very clean and relaxing. We stayed in a Harbour View Room, and I spend most of my time watching the local water traffic while working out in the morning instead of watching TV. Speaking of TV, they have a great selection of channels available. The breakfast is excellent in every way, served on the 28th floor with the view of the harbour. This room then turns into a bar to relax in the night, with excellent background music and city light view of the harbour. Out of all 3 hotels that we stayed in Hong Kong during our last trip, Hotel Jen is the best when it comes to cleanness, classiness, services, quality, and value. We love the shower!!! We would highly recommend this hotel and definitely would stay there again.

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Location is a ways away from the harbor, but was more easily accessible with the trolley. Wifi was very overpriced!

nice, clean, modern decor. Probably remodeled in the last few years, cuz there are parts that are older, like the tub/shower. Not close to MTR, but they have an hourly shuttle that will take you to one. Same shuttle goes to Star Ferry which was cool. Located in a more "local" part of town, out past the last MTR stop. Overall = comfortable experience, 6.5/10 for location convenience. Location convenience may be higher for tourists, I think there was a tourist spot or two nearby.

Good location, great service. Simple but very comfortable. Hotel shuttle made the airport easy to get to.

While it's not in an ideal location, it was easy enough to get around Hong Kong. The shuttle bus was very convenient and helpful. The area around the hotel gave a glimpse of everyday life in this very busy city. The people were friendly and quick to offer assistance to us when we seemed confused or lost.

When I booked the room, it included breakfast for two complimentary. However, they refused to honor the free breakfast and they told me to talk to my travel agent not to them. Even though i showed them my confirmation which specifically included the breakfast, they just shrugged and said sorry, talk to your travel agent.

I got to tell you that Hotel Jen provided a good service. Staffs are friendly and gave us a lot of good information on where to go and how to get there. The only one thing that disappointed us was we placed a morning call at 5:45am on the day we leave at for 7am check out. We didn't get a morning call and we got up at 6:45am. I was so upset! Part of that the room didn't have an alarm radio which I expected to have one in any hotel room. So, we didn't bring on with us. Other than that, I would recommend all my friends to go to Hotel Jen. As much as a small room, but it has everything you need. I love the design in the room, it packs everything you need in a tiny room. Good experience over all.

This hotel was very clean and modern. The only problem was that even though my reservation said that it included breakfast, they disputed this and said that breakfast was not included in my package however it was clearly stated on my confirmation email. They did end up not charging for the breakfast but who wants that hassle when you are rushing out the door for a further travel destination! I looked at the Jen Rooms (Club Level) and they were very nice also. Separate shower and toilet which is always nice and the basins were on the side as you walked into the room but perfectly fine. View of the harbour and the free evening drinks and breakfast included. The lounge area on the top of the hotel had a good view over the harbour.

Easy access from Airport. Take the A12 Airport Bus for HK$45 one way. It takes 45 minutes, walk 2 blocks to Hotel from DesVeoux Road. From Kowloon Nathan Road, take # 104 bus, it stops almost right in front of Hotel. Very efficient and friendly stuff, kept our big luggages while we travel to Macau, Shanghai and other cities.

Hotel Jen is a nice place to stay, though a bit of a ways from all of the action at Central in Hong Kong. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is an older yet lively place. If you want total immersion with the locals, then you got it with this location. There's a tram stop just a short walk away from the hotel that will take you to Central in 15 to 20 minutes for about 2 Hong Kong dollars one way. But I'd recommend the hotel's free shuttle bus if you're planning on visiting major tourist spots like the Star Ferry. My room had a single queen bed and, although it would have been small for a vacationing couple, was just the right size for a solo traveler like myself. More importantly, though, it was very clean. The staff were friendly, although a few struggled with English. I found two of them especially helpful and kept going to them when I needed something. And the best part of course was the price. A great rate for those who want to stay on the island.

The Hotel Jen in Hong Kong's Western district was a comfortable and reasonably priced hotel to stay in as far as Hong Kong is concerned. The rooms are not huge, but are just fine if you are staying in Hong Kong, as you are not going to be staying in your hotel room other than to sleep. The location is a little out of the way, and that is likely why the price is relatively cheap for the quality of the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only negative thing we have to say about the hotel is regarding the breakfast buffet. Our suggestion to him was either lower the price or improve the buffet, but we would not eat there again if nothing changes. There is a McDonald's right next door to the hotel, so we would eat breakfast there if we ever return to the Hotel Jen. Other than this one complaint, we would stay at the Hotel Jen again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to save money on accomodations in Hong Kong.

The hotel has a good shuttle bus service. The hotel has only recently been refurbished so furniture/fittings are shiney bright. Air conditionining was OK altho' only managed to get temperature down to 25C. Staff very courteous - English of some staff was not very good but not really a problem given there was always a good English staff member nearby.
