Friendly, clean and comfortable.

Great cheap accommodationWe booked this hotel last minute as it offered a central location and a very cheap price. I was expecting the worse - for £56 per night it could have been horrible. Far from it though - we were greeted by the very friendly staff, and shown to our room. Okay, it is basic, (no TV, shared bathroom facilities) but it is very clean, the beds and duvet were comfy, we felt safe and the shared bathroom facilities next door were clean and always empty. It did get quite noisy outside on the street at night, but hey, you are in Amsterdam. If you are looking for budget accommodation in a great location and don't mind the décor being basic, then this is the place for you. I would definetly go back.

Stopped here for the second time. Has recently been re-decorated and the work is still going on but didnt affect our stay. Right on the edge of the red light and close to the station. We had a fab time, got to be the steepest steps in the world but ok of your agile.

Rooms very small and cramped - stairs extremely steep, hotel is very close to central Amsterdam but this benefit is reduced when you are kept awake until 5 in the morning with noisy drunks shouting in the street outside. We were in a group of guys so it wasnt too much of a problem but i wouldnt recommend this hotel to couples looking for a romantic break!!

Situated in a handy location for Centraal station, convenient for joining trams or the metro. Friendly, humorous staff, conversant fluently in English. Left luggage facility was very convenient. Pleasant pub below. Although earplugs were provided, I found it quieter than expected for Warmoesstraat. Bedsheets could do with replacing, as they were shedding white cloth fragments into hair, etc so had to keep a close eye on cleanliness before venturing out. Other than that, the room was comfortable. It was thoughtful of them to provide a UK plug adaptor in the room. Note that the steep staircase would not be suitable for a disabled guest as there are no lifts in the building. Hotel is being very nicely redecorated in a pale green and orange colour scheme which is pleasing on the eye. I would stay again.

Very basic room - no food available - extremely steep stairs - shared bathroom - very noisy part of town.

If you only want to find a place to sleep, it maybe your choice. However, the facility is too old to use. By the way, the stair from first floor to second floor is too bad.

Probably the steepest stairs in Amsterdam.Very very basic, not even a telly in bedroom.

The hotel is just a very short walk (easy with baggage) from the central train station. The stairs are very steep. The rooms very basic.Serves the purpose but was glad to stay in a higher grade hotel for the second night of our stay.

The recommendation to stay here is conditional....Rooms were really basic for the price and the decor is nothing to get too excited about. I had an ensuite which was fine but basic, and the shower was good enough pressure and hot water wise. The location is great in terms of being really close to the station and on the edge of the Red lIght District, without feeling like you are right in the middle of the hedonism. There was a bit of noise in the weekend mornings, but my room was on the top floor so it was manageable. It was nice having the old pub downstairs and the bar staff were friendly enough. I didn't stay long enough to get an idea of cstomer service; the barman was the front desk as well. Overall I was in Amsterdam for the city not the hotel, and it did the job for the little bit of sleep I had each night. But it was quite expensive for what we got, and if you are looking for a romantic getaway...try harder.

This is a public house/ bar with rooms above offering reasonable value for money. There are extremely steep stairs to the very basic rooms so anybody with walking difficulties beware. It is a good location if you want to be near a lot of restaurants/ bars/ and is very near the main railway station and red light district. This also means there is a reasonable chance of being disturbed by noise at times throughout the night.
