From the moment I booked our reservation with Il Giardino to the minute we said our goodbyes at the end of the week Gianna, Umberto and all the staff displayed a warmth of welcome I have scarcely found elsewhere in all my travels. The hotel is perfectly located, only a leisurely 15 minute stroll to the Piazza Del Campo, the facilities first class and clean and the rooms comfortable and functional. For anyone wishing to stay in Siena I would hand on heart recommend it without a second's hesitation, rest assured the next time we stay there Il Giardino will be the place.

A very friendly welcome when we arrived on helpful onward directions when leaving. Our room had a fine view toward the city of Siena and was clean and comfortable. We didn't have time to make use of the leisure facilities although the pool looked inviting (even if the weather wasn't!)

It was our first time staying at Hotel Il Giardino and we were delighted. It is a 20-minute walk to Il Campo. Being outside the walls and just off the main road it is out of the way of traffic and city night noise--a late-night barking dog from the property next door was my only complaint. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at Il Giardino. The owners were so helpful on our arrival and really made our short stay a happy one. The hotel is very modern and well set out, perfectly located close to the city walls. Piazza del Campo is a 15 minute walk from the hotel through the beautiful streets of Siena. The rooms are modern and very clean and well catered. We were allowed a late check out so we could make the most of the pool.

The Hotel Il Giardino Siena is not so difficult to find when one is driving. Just find Via Baldassari Peruzzi (on the signs: B.Peruzzi) which runs along and very close to the outside of the north-eastern part of the city wall. When you are at a sharp corner (nose) near the eastern most part turn away from the wall, there you have the hotel, 20 metres. Good private open air parking behind. From the hotel, about 10-15 minutes walk to Piazza Del Campo. The hotel itself is a little bit impersonal, but keep in mind that it is a 2-star hotel, fully adequate as such.

Freundliche Besitzerfamilie. Das Hotel ist sauber und ruhig. Eigener kostenloser Parkplatz. Ca. 20 Minuten zum Stadtzentrum. Angenehm ist der Swimmingpool. Leider war das Restaurant Mitte September nicht (mehr?) geöffnet.

We thought the Hotel Il Giardino Siena was great, very helpful staff and we had a large corner room overlooking the walled town. WE did think it was a little bit pricey compared to other hotels we stayed in though.

The hotel is situated just outside the main city walls- it's about 3-5 minute walk along a busy road to get through the Porta Pispina and then another 10 minutes walk to the Piazza del Campo (up a gentle incline)- so it's a bit off the main tourist areas. Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming - couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely views from rooms and especially lovely view from breakfast room.

Lovely room with terrific view. Unfortunately tho, the hotel is located outside the city walls and even tho they say it's only a 10 min walk into the town, it's actually 20 - down the hill to the city gate, then back up the hill into town. Family-run, absolutely gorgeous people, very kind and helpful. One of the older members of staff was Il Duce for his Contrada in the Palio 20 or 30 yrs ago, so it's nice to have such a close connection to something that is so significant for the Sienese.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Il Giardino. Nothing to say about our room. clean et convenient. The hotel location is very convenient according to the Siena City, but the surround was in working progress at that period. Note that the swimming pool is opened to people external to the hotel, according to a fee, that makes a strong attendance during the week end.

Siena is beautiful and this is a great hotel to stay at. It is a little bit of a walk to the center of the city, maybe 15 min., but we thought it was well worth it. Clean, modern, excellent breakfast, with beautiful views of the city from both the rooms and the dining room. Staff is very friendly and speak english.

Hosts were very helpful, answering our many questions, providing maps and directions, recommendations of restaurants and sights. The room had a real shower, which was nice. The directions from venere.com were of little use. We drove around about thirty minutes, before stopping to ask for directions. We should have communicated with the hotel directly for detailed directions.
