Shocking experience!Having booked in at the Ibis I was immediately sent to another hotel 1 mile away.The place was shared with familes and home seekers and I was charged an idential price as my orginal city centre location. This was a high secuity hotel which I would value at £45 per night not the £85 I was charged.My coffee and toast was an extra £12!!!I will not stay with Ibis again and will think twice about using late rooms

Basic but comfortableI had a good stay at this hotel - the room facilitities were minimal (ie no hairdryer, no iron) but it was clean and comfortable. I felt the extra £10 I had to pay to access the TV/radio/internet was a bit of a con. There is no restaurant but as the hotel is in the middle of China town it didn't matter as there are so many cheap and cheerful restaurants to choose from.

Overnight stay B&BCentrally located hotel, nice and clean, friendly staff. Breakfast was disappointing. I came down for it at 9am to find very little left. Room was clean and facilities good.

Business tripThis hotel was booked as an overnight stay to attend a conference . It is idea if you are wanting to experience the night life, clubs and bars. however, be warned, my room literally overlooked a nightclub/bar and even with triple glazing the music was vibrating through the walls! This was ok if you can sleep through this, however there was more antisocial noise from the revellers returning from the clubs shouting and balling to their friends, knocking on doors and laughing etc with no considerartion for other guests at 4am! This was on a Tuesday night and not the weekend so I can only imagine what it would be like. If you have a full day event and need to concentrate i would not recommend you stay at this hotel mid week.

our stay was very nice i stay in a lot of hotels in birmingham only a couple of things which you could consider is there are no hair dryers in room ,only 1 towel per person ,1 hand towel for both 1 exra pillow when 2 are needed ,did!nt have breakfast but thought it was very poor as you have to pay extra for it what was on offer should be complementry as it is most hotels

Insufficient and inadequately trained Reception staff. It took ages for myself and colleagues to book in, and then, despite having arranged preparation of the bill the night before, over 30 minutes to check out in the morning.

This hotel was exactly as expected...Continental Breakfast was good value for money and had the advantage of not having to book in advance for it. Only comment that I would like to make was that the hotel was difficult to find as we were unfamiliar with Birmingham City Centre - however the location was excellent for access to the main shopping district and rail links. For that reason alone we would stay there again.

Room was very hot even with temperature down and window open. Bigger towels required. Waste paper bucket would be good for the bedroom.

Very basic but great in the central location and value for money. Was very disappointed as was asked if we wanted breakfast upon check in and agreed but the following morninig found it was only a croissant ro what looked like tinned fruit.

Stayed for 1 night on business. the room was small but adequate for 1 night. I stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and they were clean and modern. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Our room overlooked the Arcadian complexand despiye being triple glazed we could still hear noise from the bars which are open till the early hours. Did not concern us but it may affect light sleepers.

The rooms are a little small, but they are very clean (which was most important!)and the location is perfect. Staff are great and the price is also as good as you're going to find in Brum city centre.

The staff here are really nice( well except one grumpy woman on reception) and that made the difference, it is a bog standard hotel, but its clean but basic and really well situated.

Very overpriced for what it was. Yes it is central but very noisy with China Town just outside your window so ask for a room higher up if you don't want to hear people leaving the bars and restaurants. Staff very slow to check in and out and generally unhelpful. I asked where the lift was and she looked at me as if I did not speak English. Only 1 left was working so had to wait quite a bit. Breakfast was total chaos not enough cutlery nor plates really poor.

The hotel was lovely and clean & staff very helpful. Room was clean, with new flat screen tv in room & tea making facilities. Nice shower, comfy bed.After a night out we were hungry and wanted a pizza from the 24 hour menu but there wasnot alot left for us to have,but we were told we wereable to order in take away tosatisfy our hunger - which was great.
