The hilton amsterdam was by far one of the best choices you can make when coming to this wonderful country. From my arrival ( freindly valet were there instantly to retrieve bags and car ) to my departure. This hotel has an excellent restraunt in it, that cheaptickets.com arranged for the breakfast buffet to be included in the trip, which you would have paid 37 euro a peice for. The room I was in faced the terrace as well as the canal way which just simply added to the magic that is the hilton amsterdam. Almost everything you could want on holiday is in this hotel, just remember that this is what I would like to call a very professional hotel full of professional people, so be prepared to pay for such services. Don't worry you won't be disappointed, Americans please I implore you go here and just get away!!!

Rooms were great. Location. The hotel is very nice, even for a Hilton. The beds were comfortable and the property is in good shape.

Convenient location from airport. Easy access to public transportation. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Good food and variety available. Very accommodating staff: prompt, polite, and professional. Great value. Highly recommend.

The hotel room had a wonderful view of the city skyline and was in a safe residential area.

First impression was mixed. Impressive reception area but front desk personnel had poor attitude. Room clean, comfortable, and small. Stayed 3 nights and empty bottle of water only replaced once (end of 2nd day despite being emptied the first night). Excekkent breakfast buffet but dinner menu limited. All in all not what I'd expect from a Hilton.

History of the hotel was interesting. Location was horrible, far from central Amsterdam as advertise. Room was boring, not five star at all. Basic accommodations far from central Amsterdam. Rude staff, everything from internet access to room service was extremely overpriced. Room was clean but definitely not five star.

Incredibly friendly and accomodating staff went out of their way to make my stay at the Hilton exceptional. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood that is a bit outside of the busy Centrum section of Amsterdam, but is a 5-10 min tram ride to almost everywhere you would want to go. The hotel also offers free bicycle rentals on a first come first serve basis to guests (not sure if it was free because I was on the executive club floor, or if it is free to everyone), and was able to get anywhere by bike within 10-15 mins. The executive club floors give you access to a really nice rooftop lounge that offers a long and very nice breakfast every day, followed by a long and very generous cocktail hour that includes a significant amount of hors d'oeuvres. The back of the hotel has two bars (one indoor one outdoor) that face onto a nice marina in the canal. There is also a restaurant and gym, neither of which I had the opportunity to try, as well as some other smaller shops and cafe. The room was not exceptional in terms of size and style, but was still very nice, very comfortable, modern with some exceptional views of the city. I would definitely stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone traveling to Amsterdam.

The staff were phenomenal. They really treated us well. The location is too far south of everything. The hotel rooms and service and staff were great, but the situation was too far to comfortably walk with two small kids (ages 4 and 7). Taxis were expensive, so this was a little less cost effective than I had hoped to make this trip. Also, we could not have two children in our room, so we had a second adjoining room. This really did not please me. This did not detract from the wonderful staff and my view of the hotel.

"The person I spoke to in making arrangements couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. The hotel was in a quiet, residential area about a 20 minute walk from the nearest museums or areas of interest. They did have bike rental, which helped. Staff were unbelievably friendly, helpful, and welcoming."

30 Euros per day for the internet seemed excessive $9 for a small bottle of Coke also excessive. The hotel was very nice. Bar and lobby open and friendly. It was about 4 blocks from a Tram line and not really in where the action is. Cab rides from the central area were about 30 Euro for 5 people.

Service was superior. Internet was expensive. Internet was extra, but service, cleanliness etc. were great! They overbooked the hotel on first night andsuggested us another equal hotel. Two personal letters of apologies arrived and when we arrived back the next day, they offer us a Club Level room with complimentary snacks, breakfast, spirits.

Comfortable beds, very clean. WiFi was way too expensive. $40 a day. For a hotel that is supposed to be business friendly the cost of WiFi was high. Full access for 27b Euro or approximately $40 per 24 hour period is nothing short of robbery and is reason enough for me not to return. No room service after 11:30 at night.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Location. Probably okay for business, but too far from Amsterdam attractions for a visitor. It was a 10 minute walk to the closest tram and then a minimum of 20 minutes on the tram to get to the city center.

Very friendly staff. Cost of drinks in the bar: 9 euro for a glass of (bad) chardonnay is too expensive. Also expensive mini bar.

Great staff, nice, new, clean, comfortable. Location is bad for tourists. 15 minutes cab ride or 25 minutes tram ride. Very nice hotel. Excellent staff. The only draw back is location. If you are aiming to be near all the happenings in town, this is not your hotel. Its about 15 minutes (and 10-12 Euro) cab ride or 25 minute tram ride to get to outskirts of centrum.

Comfort of room. Had to pay extra for internet. I liked the hotel in general. The only drawbacks were the location, it was too far from the old part of the city, and that I had to pay extra for internet access.

I was in one of the recently renovated rooms and it was simply divine. Hotel staff was fantastic, and while the hotel is not right downtown, access by trolley car to all the sites in Amsterdam is easy. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nice room. Extremely overpriced minibar -- can of coke was about 7 euros! Everything was great except the very overpriced minibar. Also, would prefer the hotel to be a little closer to downtown, but all in all, very good

Staff was wonderful. Location, simply too far from the center of town. The room was very lovely. The staff was truly excellent from the doorman to the front desk clerk, everyone was helpful and considerate. There was a small electronic hitch and two people tried to enter my room after I'd been checked in, but it wasn't that bad.

Nice service, excellent customer service, no problems. Location, cost of amenities. Recommend for business travel or with family. Located in a quiet and quaint part of Amsterdam. Easy access to transportation. Professional, courteous, and kind.
