The Hotel is lovely. The decoration is modern with leather sofa's and chairs in the bar area. The room was also decorated to a high modern standard. The staff were friendly. There is a lovely bar on the 7th floor which has a great view but sadly it was usually almost empty when we were there. The barman is a nice chatty fellow and the prices were not expensive. We did not use the gym and so therefore cannot commet but we did have a look and it looked new. Breakfast was a bit monotomous with the same being served every morning and the staff sometimes did not keep up with the demand. But the food itself was certainly edible. It is on a small hill so not good for anyone who is not fit and able. There is no car park and so you have to park in the narrow streets adjacent to the hotel. This was not a problem during the week but harder at the weekend. There is a small drop-off area for drivers so you do not have to carry heavy luggage from the next street! There is no pool at the hotel and no beach in Portimao so we went to Praia de Rocha to the lovely beach there. It is e1.40 on the bus and takes about 20 minutes. We mostly went to Alvor for our evening meals as being vegetarian found the restaurants in Portimao a bit limited but we did have a very nice Chinese there. There are plenty of shops within a 5-10 minute walk. All in all I'd give it the thumbs up if you don't want a beach or pool on your doorstep.
