The Por do Sol offers international and Portuguese cuiseine and the famous Indian restaurant, the Raj at Garbe, offers an extensive choice of authentic dishes from many different regions of India.Regular evening entertainment is provided in our Bar Boa Vista which like our restaurants enjoy panoramic views of the ocean and sunset.

The Hotel Garbe is situated in Armação de Pêra. Distance is approximately 45Kms. When leaving the Airport, proceed to main road (E.N .125) and follow signs towards PORTIMÃO and LISBOAESPANHA IP1 (A22) MOTORWAY Take Motorway (A 22) towards LISBOA and PORTIMÂO.Keep on the Motorway towards PORTIMÂO until the ALCANTARILHA ARMAÇÃO DE PERA exit.At the large roundabout, follow the sign to ARMAÇÃO DE PÊRA. Continue until ALCANTARILHA, get into the right hand lane and turn right for Armação de Pêra (it is sign posted). At the next small roundabout at the edge of the town, turn left. Follow the one way system (second right turn, then second left turn) you will reach the seafront road, the building in front of you at this moment is the HOTEL GARBE, turn left, then right into the main entrance.

Nice PlaceVery scenic, balcony looking across the pool to the beach and sea..Not very much to actually do at this time of year, if you are looking for a romantic break or solitude it's ideal..All in all a good experience, good weather and miles of beach..Just avoid the hotel coffee..

The hotel is nice although needs some work to the exterior as it looks quite old. They could also use a revamping of their pool side furniture. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. This hotel is perfect for people who want to sit in the sun all day and do not care so much about nightlife. There is nothing to do at night and there are no restaurants in the immediate area except the hotel restaurant.

Great views of the beach, it may be worth paying the extra for a sea view as the rear view is not great, but the balconys are very small. Excellent breakfast with outides terrace overlooking the beach. Very close to the town bars, shops and restaurants, flat walking distance. We would go again

Excelent location on the beachfront. Pool and terrace area ideally situated that you can hear the waves lapping on the shore. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. Would certainly go back again

"The Garbe" is a really nice hotel situated directly at a wonderful beachEquipment and interior of the hotel is not always the newest any more but efficient and working well, the hotel has a good customer serviceBreakfast is sufficient in an international comparison and very ok for Portuguese conditions, it is especially suiting British tasteElectric heater for tee and coffee in the room, also air conditionDuring my stay in winter guests were mainly retired couples from Britain, a few Portuguese, Dutch and GermansIn winter time the hotel is not so crowded neither is the town, but in summer hotel, town, streets and beach it will be extremely crowded like the whole AlgarveWonderful beach directly at the hotel, most rooms having a direct view to the ocean, 50 m distance to the water, you must like the noise of the waves even with closed windows, as for me it is very relaxingThe town "Armacao de Pera" is typical tourist town - not very pretty - with only a few thousand Portuguese and tourists living there in the winter time and up to 100.000 people in summer peak season (owning an own apartment)Typical Portuguese meal - grilled fish - for a quite low price at the east end of the beach at "lota" (small harbour area)My recommendation: explore the Algarve with its nice beaches with your own car, also the interior of the Algarve like Monchique (in the mountains), Silves (the castle and old town), and all the other towns and also the beaches along the coastThe hotel is recommended to be booked with a discount rate at laterooms.comI would choose to stay there again !

They have discontinued afternoon tea and cakes which were much appreciated. This is a backward step.

Check was fantastic, I was travelling alone with my 2 year old son and the staff were great, very helpful and made my every passing of the reception welcoming, the breakfast choice was very poor and food wasn't great. This is my only complaint of the hotel. Location is superb, 2 minutes walk from your room to the beach. Really nice hotel, overall, shame about breakfast. Rooms were very clean and housekeeping was 100% efficient every day!

A lovely hotel in a lovely resort. Single/twin bed rooms have a shower but no bath and the balcony is tiny, but on the plus side there is a fridge for guest use, efficient air conditioning, tea/coffee makings and a hairdryer. TV has BBC1 and Sky Sports. Tourists in Armacao are mostly Portuguese themselves and prices in cafés around the resort are very cheap, 65c for coffee and €1.80 for beer. Fish restaurants excellent. Beach is right beside the hotel.

Hotel is right on the beach. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the beach, although they are quite small. Plenty of choice on the buffet breakfast, hot and cold. Food quality good.We has an executive room which had a fridge - a big advantage to store extra milk for the tea and coffee making facilities which are good.The big negative was that there was no hot water in the morning until the tap had been running for about twenty minutes - a massive waste of water. Complained to the hotel but it never improved.We got a better deal booking through Late Rooms than had we booked direct with the hotel.The hotel is billed as 4 star - I would say it's a good quality 3 star. Although extremely clean there were areas that needed refurbishing.The resort itself is not pretty but is adequate for a short break in the sun with a fabulous beach. Good selection of restaurants in the town.

The Indian restaurant was very good, although I wasn´t impressed with the breakfast buffet. The coffee was abhorrent. The service in the evening bar was exceptional, noting a particularly helpful bartender, Fernando. The room was an exceptional value and I would definetly stay again.
