Hotel Galaxia

The small Ancash Regional Museum contains the largest collection of ancient stone sculptures in South America. At the eastern edge of town, along the Santa River, you can visit the ruins of a small Wari temple constructed between 600 and 900 A.D., at Wilcahuain Ruin National Monument. Huaraz is approx. 12 km/7.5 miles west of the border of Huascaran National Park and 187 km/116 mile southeast of the coastal city of Chimbote.
