Hotel Fortress Leopold I Novi Sad

The monumental building of Petrovaradin Fortress is situated on the banks of the river Danube in Novi Sad, Serbia. The construction of it, began at October 18th, 1692. Its founder was The Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I, who laid on the safe conduct stone and the letter with which he approves the construction. This, firstly made building, bears the name “Leopold’s Bastion”. Place where the emperor stored the letter has never been found. The fortification complex was systematically constructed until year 1780. The hotel has been opened in the building known as Long Barracs, at 1968. Firstly known as “Varadin”, when opened, Hotel charmed with its stile. Completely was renovated at 2007. and with the same stile and glow, the second time opened its doors for guests. The hotel, rated by the competent Ministry, earned the Highest Category 5 *. There are 59 rooms, suites and residences. Rooms are in the renaissance and in modern style, in accordance with its decoration. Apartments and residences bear the names of historical figures such as Emperor Leopold I, Prince Joseph I, Maria Theresa, Charles VI, Commander Eugene of Savoy, etc. These people, all played significant part in the history of the fortress. At your disposal are Board hall, capacity 20 seats (conference table), Conference hall, capacity 45 seats and Business Club, capacity 25 seats. For moments of rest we suggest Havana bar, where you can relax to the sounds of classical music and aroma Cuban cigars. There are also three "a la carte" restaurants, “8 Tamburasa" ,specialized in voivodinian cuisine, "Terrace" , Italian restaurant and “Kastel" fish restaurant‚ all located at the sunny terrace of Petrovaradin Fortress.
