We were there for a 2 night stay. My first impression was that this was going to be an okay hotel, even though I was not impressed with the area of town the hotel was located. (Do not stay here if you want to be out walking after dark.) However first impressions can be misleading. Nothing worked while we were there. The 2 person elevator worked for 1/2 of one day. (There is no assistance if you need help with your bags to the 5th floor.) The rooms and hallways get very warm and there is poor ventilation. If you open your window at night be prepared to listen to very loud middle-eastern music all night. The shower drained very slow. We were able to shower for about 1-2 minutes before the shower pan wound begin to overflow forcing us to use the only two towels that that were provided to keep the water from coming into the bedroom. When we alerted the front desk, we were told that happens. (No additional towels were ever brought up that night to our room. The staff was very rude and there was no customer service. Hotel Floris has several locations in northern Europe. We were planning to spend a night in Amsterdam and we saw that there was a Floris Hotel in Amsterdam as well. We asked the attendant at the front desk if they would be able to reserve us a room for Friday night in Amsterdam. The attendant confirmed with me twice that the reservation was made and the second time I inquired he yelled at me "I told you that I took care of it!" I decided to call the hotel in Amsterdam myself, and there was no reservation. We also spoke to other guests while we were there and no one had positive experiences to share.

1. The days before checking in after having booked the hotel, I was worried about the place because other hotel booking sites rated this hotel very badly. However, it turned out to be a decent hotel in terms of the location and the price. 2. Never try to walk to this hotel with your luggage. Although it claims to be just 10 minutes' walk from the Midi, the way that leads to the hotel is rough and uneven. Besides, if you are in the Midi station for the first time, you would get lost finding the right exit out of the total 10+ (hint: use the one that passes Haagen Datz and Subway Sandwich). 3. From Brussels airport, don't take a taxi. They will rip you off. Although the normal price should be about 20 Euros, everybody ends up paying about 55 Euros, local included. Try the train instead. It costs about 3 to the Midi and then take a taxi to the hotel.

Excellent service by Concierge. Breakfast selection was outstanding. We had two rooms, one was exceptional while the other had problems with the toilet (constantly running), door handle to the bathroom (broken) and the TV remote was missing.
