Always return to this hotelStay in Cheltenham several times a year and always come away from this hotel feeling we've had an enjoyable weekend. Staff are usually efficient and friendly, the rooms are always well above your average standard, and the restaurant food and service has yet to disappoint. The cost is a little above average, but you feel you've had value for your money.

Hot Night in CheltenhamTwo issues with the room, first - it was a very hot night and the noise of air conditioning was intrusive and second, the bed wasn't particularly comfortable. Both of these are subjective so others may not find these to be a problem. Customer service was superb - the receptionists were very friendly and efficient, we got an upgrade to an exec room with a wonderful bathroom.

The room we had was a little small for the money, but it was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Breakfast was really nice. Overall the service was great, and I would have scored the service even higher but for the bar in the evening, the service was pretty slow for drinks there, and the staff weren't that friendly, but everywhere else they were great.

Highly recommended, staff were friendly & helpful. The room was excellent, what we liked the most was the attention to detail, every little thing had been thought through. It was easy to find and good value for money. We did not eat in the hotel, but the menu looked fanstatic. We went out as there are many resturants & bars etc within walking distance. We would stay there again.

Superb hotel. Wonderfully helpful and attentive staff (especially when we had to call an ambulance as my husband was taken ill). Lovely food, very professionally served. Only slight problem was that there were a lot of short flights of stairs - so be aware! Otherwise it was faultless.

Excellent stay in this lovely hotel! Myself, my husband and our 11 month old daughter stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Very centrally located, close to lots of nice shops, bars and restaurants, and a great bar and restaurant in the hotel. Lovely old building, but modern decor, with attention to detail. We ate in the hotel as we have a baby and it was more convenient for us. There was no problem with our baby eating with us in the restaurant (she is well behaved and quiet! I understand why people dont like noisy kids in restaurants) Great service in the restaurant and bar, very friendly. Reception staff were also very helpful. We booked a standard room and, whilst it wasnt huge, it was very tastefully decorated, with a nice bathroom and powerful shower. There was a problem with the TV in our room and, after mentioning this to reception, they offered to move us to another room. We were moved to an amazing deluxe room with 2 free standing baths, a huge double shower and a 7ft bed! No extra charge. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for location, rooms (both standard and deluxe), friendly staff and excellent food!

Everything was fine except for the fact this was a basement room (not obvious when booking). Why oh why (heavy) duvets in Summer ? Very helpful staff but unsuccessful at getting us a wif-fi internet connection.

The hotel is lovely. It's very stylish and clean. The room wasn't enormous, but it was not small. The bed was big and very comfy. The bathroom was good, and the shower was almost over powering! We had a meal in the evening at the hotel which was good, but didn't live up to the reputation. But as it was included in the deal it was good value. I think if I had paid full price for the meal I would have been dissapointed. Having said that I would go again, and would recommend it to other people.

Great location minutes walk from trendy Montpellier and the city centre. Everything very well executed from the start - friendly reception, escort to our room and got us non-allergy duvet & pillows immediately. Lovely fluffy towels and bath robes to use after an amazing monsoon shower. If we'd paid a little more we could have had stand-alone baths in our room but they were fully booked. Food and wine service was great, even despite a small mistake, which was dealt with politely and efficiently. Wine list isn't just meant for the super rich, with a few budget choices as well. All in all, a great stay, highly recommended.

We stayed for two days and had a lovely meal in the bistro on Friday. Everyone was as friendly as they could be. The hotel is lovely and great value.

Comfortable hotel in good location close to centre of Cheltenham. We stayed in Pol Roger (superior double) - the bedroom was huge if a bit dark, lovely comfy bed & awesome bathroom. The monsoon shower is fantastic! Only criticism would be breakfast- a bit expensive for a fairly basic buffet.

The hotel was really lovely but when i booked, i booked with the impression you get a free standing bath in the room, but we did not. A little disapointed as this was the reason why i booked it.

Carlsberg don't do hotels, spa's and bistro's, but if they did they would be just like Hotel du Vin. Faultless.

The Hotel is Beautifully decorated, the staff are very friendly and the restaurant has a great wine list. The only 2 negatives are that the room was very dusty, the carpet and blinds for example. and the other is depending which main course you order the portions are tiny.Shame, because everything else was excellent.
