Location Description:
The 3rd district has a lot to offer to its visitors. It is one of the best places to visit art galleries, museums and to shop. The Marais is hosting around 50 art galleries continuously throughout the year, around 40 theaters are found within a 10 minutes walk. Public and private museums like George Pompidou, Picasso, Carnavalet and the Jewish Museum are located here. Small tempting fashion shops and the department stores - Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, Forum des Halles - can be reached immediately or within maximum 10 minutes (walking or by metro). The Sentier district, traditional worldwide known home for Paris clothes, shoes, jewellery and other fashion accessories wholesalers is around the corner. Privileged access to public transportation makes it easy to reach within 10 minutes either Oberkampf quarter - the well known trendy nightclub area - or Pigalle - known for its unique entertainment ways.

In the general the hotel staff was nice. We had an issue with the room being very hot and stuffing. We talked to the staff on multiple occasions. They kept saying that it was getting fixed. They sent a lot of people up over three days. At one point, we requested just the window be open, but the staff said no, no, no the problem was fixed. On the third morning, the hotel stsaff finally said that the A/C could not be turned on. They argued that the room was not that bad, even though they had not been sleeping in there. I asked why they didn't tell us the first day that the A/C could not be turned on and just open the window. But he did not have an answer.

U2 Concert Break in ParisHotel is basic, but, location is superb for Paris attractions. Area is also great for bars and restuarants. Centre of Paris is about 20mins walk - which is perfect for strolling into the city at a lesiurely pace. The staff are friendly and the metro and RER lines are within a couple of minutes walk. I would recommend the hotel to those who want a small, friedndly hotel - which is used simply as a base to explore the delights of Paris. If you actually want to spend a lot of time in your hotel, then this is probably not the one for you.My partner and I thought it was ideal and would use it again.

Hotel is well placed, right by tube line, 10 minutes away from most places of interest. Hotel room was clean, decor a little strange and outdated (green and yellow!?) but all in all it wasn't bad. I do think that it is very over-priced but this is more a reflection on mega expensive Paris!!!! Everywhere and everything is over-priced!!!!!!!

excellent valueThis room is excellent value at 52 euros ,Its in the Metro zones 1 and 2 so you can get a days metro ticket around the sights and to the hotel in one.The room is clean and the staff are helpfull. There is a small lift and lots of hot water.Check in is late but you can leave your luggage. We didn't try the food but as Paris goes this is a bargain.

Great value & great place for the price!!!!!I have stayed for a long weekend in a 3 bed occupancy room, and compared to other parisien rooms I have stayed before it was spacious, with very nice and clean remodeled bathroom, staff at the recetion was extremely sweet and helpfull speaking fluent english. my friends came day earlier and di dnot speak much french/english, and still they found the whole experienece very pleasant. I will definitely come back! We enjoyed the walking distance to Centre- Pompidou and other central locations, great value, great place!

Good Value hotel in Convenient LocationGood value for the reduced price I got for late booking. Basic small room with good size bathroom, clean, and had free WiFi in room. Staff helpful - when I needed help opening safe someone was sent very quickly. The area is ok, with metro very close and some shops and restaurants nearby. Not the best area but felt safe and only 20 minutes walk to Notre Dame and main tourist area. Also easy to get to from CDG airport as couple of stops down from Gare du Nord.I hoped to be slightly nearer main tourist area but only hotels I found nearer when booking were much more expensive or had bad reviews. All in all very satisfied.Didn't eat in hotel at all so can't comment on this.

I found the hotel very satisfactory for a quick weekend trip, and well-placed for walking into the centre of town.

Great stay for the money!Perfectly situated for Parisean adventure! Brilliant customer service and easy to come and go. Slightly noisy street, but the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. Recommended.

Family Visit to ParisMyself and my husband and two children, aged 7 and 9, booked a family room at the hotel. We thought it was good value: the hotel was clean and in a good position and the room itself wasn't too cramped with a spacious bathroom. It was three stops down from the Gare du Nord and we were able to walk to the Pompidou Centre and places such as the Louvre and Opera. The staff were friendly and got things done. Our only complaint was the heating - it was far too hot! I turned down the thermostat in the room but still found it overheated. (However, we are used to sleeping with no heating on).

not exactly in the quater marais/bastille but only 10 to 15 minutes walk to be there, the same walking distance to centre pompidou, only 5 minutes to metro; nice and friendly english speaking staff

Friendly hotel very close to Strasbourg St denis Metro - pleasant 3/4 mile walk to River Seine. Hotel reception spoke good English, locked room to store luggage. Hotel in quiet side street. Room smallish but clean and functional. Good place to base yourself to explore Paris

Certainly good for value but don't expect much from the rooms. Just a place of rest but helpful staff. Not bad location, metro close by that heads straight to gare de nord for going back and simple to get to other attractions. Again just a place to stay. 3 stars? Debatable.

This was not the best hotel someone could stay at, but that was to be expected as it was only a 3 star hotel. Saying that, in its own category it was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! We absolutely LOVED it! Very convenient for public transport, it also has a velib statino right outside the doors. The staff was amazingly generous and pleasant at all hours of the day, and everything was just smooth and easy. The quality of the room, again wasn't te best you could ever get, but it was always clean and tidy; it had everything one could need in a hotel room when it comes to fridge, safe, bathroom, etc... although it is an old building, a clear effort is made on the decoration and in making guests feel good.

A clean hotel with just the basics you need for exploring Paris. Fairly close to most of the \"must visit\" sites in Paris for the first timer. Don't choose this if you like to relax in the atmosphere of the hotel as its quite small and that goes for the rooms too. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms either, that would be nice. But for the money its very acceptable. Reception staff very helpful too.

Doesn;t correspond to a 3 star rating - more like a 2 star hotel. Triple room consisted of twin bed plus a small single bed in a double room. Bit of a stale smell in room. Bathroom good size but needs modernising. 24 Hour reception - day receptionist was helpful but night reception not very helpful at all. Negatives: room was not that nice/ no kettle in room so no boiling water to make tea. Positives: Very good location / 1 minute walk from main St Denis metro (2 lines) / couple of stops from central Paris / good selection of restuarants nearby plus supermarket. If you can stay for a cheap price then it would be worth it.

We were allocated a double instead of a twin room as requested and there was no apology or attempt to help. After asking specifically the receptionist recommended another hotel locally which provided excellent service.

Basic accommodation, handy for Gare du Nord. Like a lot of Parisian hotels in old buildings the rooms are very small and simple and not a lot of soundproofing between them, and plumbing is quite noisy.

Great location for the metro. Outside the main grocery store seemed to be a bit of a red light district so be careful. Reception staff was very helpful and warned us to watch our purses etc. as pick pockets were everywhere.
