Nice room, only problem was being able to hear the rude people in the room across from ours along with the screaming baby....but when they weren't around it was great. Close to the Eiffel Tower, close to restaurants. Most of the staff was very nice except one woman, but still not a major complaint. Great stay, worth staying there again, great price if you book online.

A group of 3 friends stayed in a triple room - we were very pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were!! We could also see the Eiffel Tower from our window so that was lovely. Very friendly hotel staff so that made our stay that much better. Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Nice little hotel, in front of the metro station and with a nice cafe just around the corner. Staff very friendly and willing to help.

Great location - opposite a metro station.Friendly staff (English speaking). Large clean rooms with Eiffel tower view from windows. We were at the 4th floor. If the hotel was closer to the Eiffel Tower and its touristic area it would be perfect. It was about 20 minutes walk. But no problem if you use the metro.

The morning/afternoon concierge at the Hotel Derby Garibaldi Paris was very helpful and courteous. The hotel location is excellent, as it is very close to the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides. If you wish to take the subway, then you're in luck because it is right across from a station. The general area of the city is not the greatest, however, we felt safe at night inside the hotel. The room was very tiny, however, it was clean and fully functional for our needs.

Very convenient, close to the subway. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was too expensive for a family of 4. Very noisy at night.

Very nice hotel in a convenient location (right next to a Metro stop). Very clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms were quiet. I would stay here again. One minor complaint: we happened to be in Paris during unseasonably hot weather and the air conditioning was provided by portable units. The exhaust vents for these units were setting on the floor, blowing the hot air back in the room. I stuck the hose out the window and got some relief, but the window had to remain open to do so - kind of counterproductive.

We had no problem finding the hotel. It is right across the Metro station. Hotel is conveniently located with supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and metro around. We had booked a family room and a double room. Family room was big and there were two washrooms. Staffs were very helpful. This is our first time staying in Hotel Derby Garibaldi and we will return to the Hotel Derby Garibaldi Paris. One recommendation if you are taking the metro from the airport or train station to the hotel, don't bring big luggages as you have to walk and change metro lines for a few times. The metro is usually very packed and you have to carry the luggages up the stairs and walk long way before changing another line.

Well I would not say that the hotel staff was universally as helpful as in the previous reviews...mainly due to English limitations, but they did try. While telling us our room would not be available until the published noon they surprised us an finished in 30 mins as my daughter was ill. Renovations going on so a little noisy. Breakfast buffet overpriced, but there are reasonable options in neighbourhood. Close to metro and attractions...really good location. Room a little tight for 4 people, but good for price. Overall very good

Hotel Derby Garibaldi was the first hotel we stayed at on our three week vacation through France and the Czech Republic. Although the hotel was not in the centre of Paris, its location directly across from the Metro was perfect. A small grocery store was around the corner as were a few pastry shops. My wife and I walked from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower easily (10-15 minute walk) and quite enjoyed the Hotel Derby Garibaldi Paris's location and the size of room and bathroom. We did have one evening where we could not get into our room - the key was malfunctioning (very odd!). The doorman on duty at night could not even figure out what the issue was. One caution I must give - do not leave any valuables in your room. Also, be very careful about how you check out of your room. I discovered that there had been fraudulent activity on my credit card half way through our vacation - and I had only used this credit card once and it was at Hotel Derby Garibaldi!

Close to the Eiffel Tower...Across from the metro and close to the supermarkets. Close to the open markets which are held on Wednesdays' and Sundays' where you could find good bargains. Within walking distance of the Seine where you could book cruises on any of the tour boats.

This is a fine small hotel in a great neighborhood in the center of the city. Metro station across the street, plenty of nice restaurants in the neighborhood, safe streets, youthful population. The hotel is old and lacks amenities that some travelers might consider mandatory. Portable air conditioners were a puzzle, TV didn't work, refrigerator lacked proper venting, shower head sprayed onto floor. This was our second stay at the Garibaldi so clearly the ambiance of a small hotel in a great neighborhood with a friendly, helpful staff outweighed the mechanical issues.

Reading the previous comments our conclusion is that the place is surely not what it used to be!

We had a great stay in Paris, and enjoyed our stay at the Derby Garibaldi, but that's mostly because we're not complainers. At first we were in the wrong room (a quad room) and had to be moved. That room was beautiful, by the way. It even had 2 bathrooms. We were moved to a much smaller room on the second floor, which had a stale smoke and sewer smell. It was clean however and when I mentioned the smell to the manager, it was temporarily taken care of. The staff were absolutely wonderful. The friendliest people we met in Paris. The hotel was also well situated across from the tube, within 15 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower and within 5 minutes of a laundromat.
