Great location, within walking distance of many nice restaurants. Raid the pantry was open after 10 pm. Loved the art deco/ history of the hotel.

This is a nice hotel in walking distance of downtown San Jose. The restaurant is very nice and the "Raid Our Pantry" feature is a nice way to get a late night snack for free. My only complaint is that the hotel charges almost * a day for internet service. That is just crazy. They do have free wireless if you want to sit in the lobby. Easy access to light rail and then on to the San Jose airport.

I have stayed in San Jose a few times. This is by far my favorite Hotel. I love the restaurants so close to the Hotel and just a quick walk to HP Pavilion. My favorite part has to be "Raiding" the Pantry when i get back to the Hotel and this Pantry also serves a nice continental breakfast with a great seating area. The staff is very helpful and friendly and i always feel safe there. I was worried about the airplane noise but didnt hear a thing the entire night!

Nice throw back to the 1940's. Very cool. Loved it, great for business travel.

If you are attending any events at the HP Pavillion in San Jose, this hotel is only a short walk away. The staff was very helpful answering questions and making recommendations. The Guadalupe path is close by for a nice running location. There were always cookies and fruit available at the front desk and the free ""pantry"" had good snacks in the evening.

Parking was hard to find.

Great downtown location, easy walk to HP Pavilion and businesses. ""Raid our Pantry"" snacks all night, nice lounge, very nice restaurant.

Staff members always had a smile. Poor lighting in room and bathroom.

I loved the bathroom, it was large & had a TV. The step up/down to the bathtub. Very friendly staff, great rooms, comfy beds, super soft overside bathtowels and nice bathroom amenities. I really liked all of the little touches like the bathrobes, benches at the foot of the beds, the q-tips & face wipes, toiletries that are not made in China but the TV in the bathroom was my favorite!

The location. It was old, and the bathroom was horrible. It needs to update the bathrooms and offer room service past 10 pm. The workout facility was horrible; it was a tiny room with old equipment that barely worked. The breakfast room was horrible; it was like and old banquet room with tables. They need an actual designated restaurant. The bed needs better pillows, and an updated TV.

Vallet parking. Busy downtown location. Very nice hotel, pleasant prompt service, clean comfortable rooms.

Great bathroom & toiletries! AC was noisy. The hotel was nicely remodeled and comfortable. Just a short walk from the San Jose Convention Center.

Rooms were clean, bathrooms were nice. Nothing. Liked it all.

Clean. No wireless internet in rooms. Fee forbreakfast. Old hotel. Located in downtown San Jose. Older building but updated rooms. No wireless internet in hotel rooms (only in lobby area). Theybreakfast upon check-in and in their booklets but don't state that they charge for it. $20 valet parking with no self-parking option except street parking.

Excellent staff and comfortable beds. No pool or hot tub. This is a classy old hotel. The staff is courteous and the beds are fantastic. I always love staying here. The manager is a gem.

The view from our room, the quite, the availability of restaurants and entertainment. I wish there had been a vanity in the bathroom to hold personal items. e.g. curling iron, blow dryer, make up. There was space but no furniture. My husband and I live in the area and went for a romantic weekend away from home. We had a wonderful time and the hotel experience was key to the success of our trip.

4 star, location and staff. No exterior lounge or patio area other than eating area. Staff was great, hotel had a feeling of some history, and would stay there again, if could not locate hotel with exterior patio, deck or lounge area.

Beautiful accommodations, walking distance to restaurants and train. Airport approach was near and sometimes noisy. Great central location in downtown San Jose'. Very nice restaurant in hotel, and many more within walking distance. Train available a few blocks away also.

Very friendly staff. Great bathrooms. No parking. Valet parking for 20 bucks a day is a joke. Small rooms. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. However, this is far from a 4 star hotel. It is a 3 star at best. Rooms are small. Very cramped feel.
