This is a good location for divers. the staff was not as friendly as they could be, halls were dirty and the place is in need of an upgrade. The beach was very nice and not crowded. Parking is a problem. I an used to staying at the Iberostar a 4+ Star resort, the only bad thing there is the beach is not as good for shore diving. All in all Hotel Cozumel was not that bad but if you want to impress your date, stay somewere else. if you want to shore dive and dont mind the 2 star rateing Hotel Cozumel would be a great place to stay. I would stay there again just because of the shore dive, Location and price.

Friendly staff, great location, very pretty grounds.. Some wilder guests for kids. We used it on the days we didn't have the resort. Great price and very economical food and drinks. Very pretty grounds, but not much of a beach. We were very happy with this hotel for our purposes.

I've stayed at this hotel over the years as it has transitioned from one owner to the next... It is walking distance to San Miguel, well positioned on the waterfront, has a very good meal, free parking, good security, several amenities and very well priced. I would not hesitate to return. When asked, others staying here had the same opinion.

The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk or *cab ride to heart of the city. It is directly across the street from the water, but no beach near by. There is a pier which can be used to pick up customers for scuba trips. The pool is very large and they have some activities during the day. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. The restaurants is overpriced if you don't purchase the all inclusive option and the food is not worth the money you pay.

This hotel is a great value for the money and the breakfast included buffet was very good. Employees were nice, front desk tried not to honor the 1 free discover scuba that came with the package, but we persisted & the promotion was honored. Good location, not too far from town. Very clean, older hotel with a great pool.

Staff very courteous, good location, good food & drinks, overall great experience. It had to take a taxi to locations which are additional costs. This hotel is in a great location. It is about 1 1/2 miles to the fairy dock and shopping. You can take a short walk and be in the heart of shopping and restaurants. The hotel is not in a busy area where there is a lot of noise on the streets which makes it great to relax in quiet. All the tours and activities are fun.

My two teenage children and I enjoyed our six night stay at this hotel during our spring break. Very safe and comfortable, friendly folks, wonderful pool, not too crowded during this week since it was after most families' spring breaks. I enjoyed the convenience of the dive shop across the street. Pick up right at the pier. This hotel has an underground tunnel to the dive shop and beach area across the street so there's no need to cross the street. Very safe and convenient. We thought the location was great. We walked downtown and back several times even at night--very safe. It only took 15 minutes walking leisurely, and the views of the ocean were beautiful along the way. If we were too tired to walk, a cab ride was quick, easy, and cheap. We took the ferry to Playa Del Carmen on the mainland and visited Tulum which I think everyone should experience. It was very interesting. Also our favorite spot on the island was Chankanaab Marine Park--what a beautiful place. Snorkeling and swimming were great as were the botanical garden and Mayan ruins (replicas) walk. It's a very special place that everyone should visit. Nice beach, restaurants (although we didn't eat there), dive shops, and warm water showers and locker rooms, too. All in all, this was a great trip that I would do all over again in a heartbeat! I wish we had had time to visit the museum downtown and the other side of the island. Next time--because I know I'll go back to Cozumel. The diving is spectacular, and there are so many dive sites! I want to see more!

Hotel was relatively clean and very quiet, the food was ok but nothing fantastic, would get tired of it if eating all inclusive for more than a week.

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, beautiful pool area. Noisy air conditioner, rooms showing age a little. We had a great stay! Private tunnel to beach access and inside/outside restaurant. Beautiful pool area. Five minute taxi to shopping and ferry to mainland.

We had a large, multiple, family gathering and we were treated like royalty.(a total of 41) There was always delicious food, and a fantastic, courteous staff ready to assist with any need or desire. Half of us were divers and it's the only hotel in cozumel with a tunnel under the street to the primary diving-boat departure dock. They have a beach area that was safe for my 2-year old and it is also an endless, beautiful snorkel spot...right on the hotel grounds!!!!! There is yet another wonderful bar/restaurant 20 feet away from the ocean for a beautiful scenic lunch or drinks. There is plenty of shade and sun on the beach and if it's too hot....the one square acre pool with plenty of shade and a yet another bar/restaurant is a good place to take it easy. overall, it was the best vacation of our lives and we plan on returning every year. It's also just a 2-hour flight from DFW which makes it extremely convenient. Thank you Hotel Cozumel!!!!!!!

If you are planning any kind of romantic getaway/honeymoon, this is not the place to stay. Booked a king size bed, got two hard as a rock twin beds. Package came with a 100 credit in spa, didnt get it. Paper thin blankets and walls. We heard every romantic second of our neighbors getaway. Explain that to your kids. Breakfast was great, lunch was horrible and dinner was good the first two nights, blah the next two and more of the same the next four nights. Their breakfast sausgae was cut up hot dogs. Unless you have a few kids going with you, all-inclusive is not worth it. Dos Equis in a hard plastic cup was your choice of beer and squeeze bottle hard liquor was all there was until bar opened up at 7 pm. Every night at 9 pm for one hour, they have a show. Dancing and crowd interaction. Fun if you are watching it. Not fun if you are dead tired and want to try to get a bit of sleep. It would be one thing if they talked to the group of 15 people watching the show, but they had their intercom system turned up to the absolute highest volume and they would still scream into the mic. " HELLLLLLLOOOOOO SENIORS AND SENORITAS.... . Everynight....no joke. Lets talk the beach that they offered. In order, from the street. Tables for lunch, 10 feet of sand/broken shells/gravel, Algae covered step, ocean. Hard to snorkel when you have to fight crashing waves just to get in. Lol also the roped off snorkel area is no bigger than 50 sq. feet. Stay in nicer hotel ar across the way in playa or cancun......you wont regret it.

The place was nice if you wanted to dive. They have storage lockers so you don't have to carry your dive gear back to the room every night.

My husband and I had a Wonderful time at Cozumel. All the Hotel Crew were excellent and all the Breadfast Delicious. I have no complains about it. We will back again (ASAP). Hello to all the Cozumelenos. I got in Love with Cozumel and its people. Thanks for everything. See you soon.

The hotel was dirty and old! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The staff was not willing to work with me and neither was ORBITZ!!!!! When I called Ortibz from Cozumel to explain the problem the gentleman I spoke to said " Its unfortunate but you are out of luck" on changing hotels! The photos of this hotel is deceiving!!!

As a frequent visitor to Mexico I like to choose a clean place with some "Mexican charm, warmth and flavor". Hotel Cozumel has all of the above. The Staff welcomes you "home" with big smiles. And though this is not for everyone, it fits our needs for many reasons. The Accommodations are clean and the Staff is friendly. The location is unbeatable. You are a short walk to two awesome "Mexican Walmarts", across the street from some of the island's best snorkeling, and a nice fifteen minute, (give or take), walk to downtown. This means if you are healthy you can don't need to opt for the all-inclusive plan as there are an abundance of mouth-watering restaurants downtown. Just a few blocks back you'll find even more of the best food in Mexico. The hotel's inner courtyard houses lots of space and the largest pool in Cozumel. And though the Pool does close too early you can still get a lot of swimming in before 9 PM. There is one wing of that faces the road/ocean. The second and third floor rooms are considered oceanview, however I wouldn't go out my way to book them as you can have some serious noise from cars especially over weekends. There is a small Dive Shop across the street at their "beach club" that can help you arrange morning and afternoon dives. There are two small man-assisted beaches with plenty of palms for shade. "Walk-in" Snorkel areas work for all ages. Rooms are spacious with plenty of hot water. If you don't want to feel the refreshing Caribbean breeze the A/C units will keep you cool. There are King-size beds available as well as the standard two doubles. Bathrooms are more than adequate with a separate sink area. Closet space is good. Each room is equipped with a Safe. If you want to catch a late movie I believe there are three movie stations including HBO, HBO Plus, and Cinemax. The balconies are a good size for people watching or just relaxing on. This was our second trip to this hotel/resort. They made a lot of improvements to the beach area, quadrupling it in size, adding a kind of kiddy pool with access to snorkling, which we thought was a great feature. The staff, particularly waiters and bartenders are super friendly and nice. Our room was spotlessly clean each and every day. The ocean view rooms are worth the few extra bucks they charge. We thought the food was varied and pretty good. Breakfast and dinner were excellent (loved the plantains in maple syrup) but lunch was just so so, partly because so few people were there the week we were there (swine flu...). Usually, they custom order fish tacos (grouper, yum...) for lunch when enough folks are there. Over all we thought we were treated extremely well and for $170 a day for all the food, wine, and margaritas, and an ocean view room to boot, we thought it a very good buy.
