Amazingly reasonable given the location. Room comfortable, clean and spacious, a bit dates in some respects, but hey, it's cheap!

The hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly and the location for sightseeeing Nimes excellent. The only downside was bescause of the excellent location, it was very noisy during the night, but Im sure, if I'd have asked for a quiet room this would have been resolved.

The Rrom in the top was really hot and a lot of stairs to get there, but the view over Nimes was really nice! The Hotel has a own style, but we loved it! It' s located in the city, but quiet!

The Hotel Central has easy access to the town centre/bars/cafes/restaurants. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and made many useful suggestions for good restaurants and local historic sites. The rooms were basic but very comfortable.

A good basic hotel, well-placed for exploring Nimes on foot. 10 minutes wlak from the railway station, 5 minutes from the airport shuttle bus stop (Atria is easiest). Little passing traffic, rooms have louvre shutters so can be kept cooler (fan provided). Very pleasant and friendly staff. Breakfast costs extra: bread, preserves, juice, coffee etc.

Hotel was plain and simple, no frills. Quite a lot of stairs to climb. Right in the centre of the old town and close to the sights. About quater of an hours walk from the station.

The hotel is comfy and fairly quiet, the decor is casual and the staff were helpful. The position of the hotel was great as it is just outside the hustle and bustle of the main areas.

Its a pity the rooms weren't as good as the staff. The bathroom was probably last updated 12-15 years ago and the rooms were small. Location was very good and not too noisy. I wouldn't want to stay more than 2 nights.

Great location. Nimes is a small city and the hotel is never too far away. Ask for room 20 if you want views - but not if you've got much luggage. The room is at the top of a very narrow staircase. There is no light at the top of the stairs so needs care at night. Some of the other rooms looked dingy. Room was average for a two star but the maid service was confined to the bathroom. Only soap provided. Take the green and white bus from the airport. It stops at the railway station. Return time is shown in the nearest bus shelter (1045 for a 1300 Ryanair flight). It has several stops on the way out. There are combined tickets for the three Roman sites (about 10 euro) and four of the museums. Beware the shin-high bollards that are everywhere.

The chap at reception was very friendly and helpful. However we found the room very dark and tired and in dire need of refurbishment, whereas the web site pictures told a more charming story. Older buildings that do not have sewer vents or water traps emit a very unpleasant odor. A great choice for 3 or 4 young guys who want a inexpensive room but not concerned with looks.

A very nice city centre budget hotel, yet also very quite (off the main streets). Because of its central location,it might be not so good for anyone travelling by car, but it's ideal for an independent traveller, - the (beautiful) railway station is 10 minutes (easy walk) away, and there are several nearly stops of the airport shuttle. Possibly not the best quality accomodation you could have in central Nimes, but extremely good value for money, especially considering the helpfulness of the staff. I would happily return to stay again at the Hotel Central.

The Hotel Central Nimes is exactly waht I expected. It's cute and the people who run it are very nice. Especially the woman who is there most of the time during the day. The town is fantastic and the tour of the Arena is a must. It's well worth the price. Look out for Thursday nights in summer as there is live music EVERYWHERE in the streets. Everything from boot scootin' to flamenco with blues in between. Great fun. They also have free wi-fi but I did have to sit on the stairs as it works better in the lower part of the hotel.

Parking, particularly for check-in and unloading is a tremendous problem. The location is wonderful. There is no elevator, and as you begin ascending the stairs narrow. So, pack very light. The place has tremendous character, and the staff is most accomodating.

Hotel Central is very well situated in the centre of Nimes, about a 10 mins leisurely stroll from the Arenes, and is situated in a quiet side street. There are lots of cafes and bars on the nearby main drag including the Irish bar (O' Flahertys) just round the corner, a good place to meet people if you are a single traveller. No parking was available at hotel when I got there but there is street parking (metered) and a couple of multi-storey car parks nearby. The hotel had a lot of character and was clean and well maintained throughout, albeit a bit dark in the public areas (particularly on the staircase). The room and bathroom were fairly small but clean and comfortable. There was no air conditioning but the shuttered windows and the electric fan provided kept the room cool enough despite the 30 degree heat outside. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Good value and would recommend the Hotel Central Nimes to others.

This rather cramped and no-frills establishment, a cross between B&B and Formula 1, is in an excellent location for exploring Nîmes on foot, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops in the vicinity. Rooms are clean and comfortable but very basic. Staff is pleasant and helpful, English spoken. Shared private parking facility is several streets away.

It is difficult to park near the hotel for unloading luggage and near-impossible to park there during the stay. The hotel can offer limited parking for a charge, although this is in an underground garage a short distance from the hotel. Manoeuvring in the garage is tight in places. But the hotel is pleasant in most respects.

We couldn't praise the hotel and staff highly enough. For helpfulness one couldn't find same in 5* hotels. The Central is aptly named and perfect for a stay in Nimes. Can't wait to return.
