The writer Heinrich Böll was often a guest of his cousin, the architect, at the Hotel Böll. Together with the photographer Karl-Heinz Chargesheimer they developed here the book 'In the Ruhr district', which documents the Ruhr district of the 1950s in unparalleled fashion, with text and pictures.
