great hotel, at a great price..at first i didn't know what to expect, since it was the first time i stayed at a 2* hotel, but to be honest i couldn't be happier with it, it was very comfortable, it had all the basics you could need (clean bed, international tv, clean bathroom, telephone, ) every morning they cleaned the room, the lift worked perfectly (in other hotels that i've stayed while in europe sometimes they dont even have a lift) the staff at the reception was really nice, eventhough i speak a basic french, they would try to talk to us either in english or spanish if we couldn't understand. The location is very good, is not right in the center of paris, but it has a metro station just a couple of blocks away, there are amazing pastry shops right next to the hotel and the neighborhood is quite nice. I totally recommend it, specially if you dont want to spend too much money, cause at the end (or at least for me) I know that if I'm travelling , all i want at the end of the day is go to the hotel, take a nice bath and go to rest for the next day in a clean bed; and that's excatly what I got.

I only stayed a few hours in this hotel - arrived very late at night and got up early to catch the Eurostar from Gare de Nord back to England. The location is not very near Gare de Nord as I was led to believe! It is 20 minutes walking distance from the railway station or two underground stations if you take the metro - a bit awkard if you have heavy suitcases. Apart from that, everything was fine. Awful hotel room. Paper thin walls. You can hear every toilet flush, and (in my case) get driven mad by the lift (which the room was next to). The breakfast was the worst breakfast I have eaten in France (I live here, so have a lot of experience!). The staff were very helpful and pleasant, but this did not counter the awfulness of the total experience. And oh yes, they DO have wi-fi, in common with MANY other Paris hotels, but unlike other hotels they charge you for it. Which completely defeats the point (i.e. the good value) of staying in the hotel in the first place. In all a horrible hotel.

The room given was small but cosy and clean, and the staff generally accommodating and helpful. Would appreciate if the hand-held shower head at the bath tub could be fixed to the wall. Only real regret was being told that there was only one hairdryer for the whole hotel which was why it was not available to us during our stay as it was already with another room. Otherwise, had a pleasant stay there and would recommend it to the not overly fastidious.
