Hotel & Residence At The Black Star is situated in the historical centre of Prague, about 250 metres from the Charles Bridge and just a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square. The building of the Residence is proclaimed within the Prague cultural preservation which, from 1993, is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list.
The first reference of the building dates back to the period around 1400.
The residence offers luxurious accommodation in 7 rooms - 2x double rooms and 5 suites- each up to four/five people. Each suite consists of at least two rooms (usually a bedroom, living room with Sat TV,minibar and safety deposit box) and bathroom with hairdryer.
Three of them (De luxe suites) have fully equipped kitchens (fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher, toaster and fast-boiling kettle). Suites without a kitchen are fitted with a fridge, toaster and fast-boiling kettle.
The reception is open daily for 24 hours in the next Clementin hotel and is common for both hotels.

An all round good place to stopWe had an great weekend stopping at The Black Star. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was large and clean. The breakfast was good and plentifull. Thank for lovely weekend.

Excellent hotel with character, superb location and friendly staffI visited Prague with my boyfriend. I am 27 and he is 38. We stayed at the hotel from 19th Feb to 22nd Feb 09. The staff spoke excellent engilsh and were very informative and helpful. They could not do enough for us. We wanted to eat in one of the nights, so they ordered us a pizza and gave us 2 large bottles of water.The location of the hotel is 1 minute walk from the main square (astronomical clock) and about 5 mins walk from Charles bridge. It is central to the old town, but just situated down a side street so it's just away from the hussle and bussle.The room was gorgeous. I think we were in room number 3. We had 2 floors, the ground floor with a entrance hall to a bedroom wich had a TV, double bed, wardrobes, safe, coffee and tea facilities. The other bedroom was upstairs, with double bed, chest of drawers. We prefered to sleep upstairs as the bathroom was upstairs. The bathroom was a sperate room and had a massive bath in it...big enough for 2!The hotel is B&B. The breakfast is the only thing I didnt fully enjoy. I have had continental breakfasts on other holidays, but I didnt enjoy this one. It consisted of than bread, cheese, ham and the occasional cocktail sausage. You could have cerial and yogart too, but I was just expecting a bit more......The hotel was clean and tidy and very plesent. I would definatley stay there again. I would recommend this hotel to all ages. The eldely or people that have trouble with stairs should mention this as I don't tjink they had a lift and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs.Excellent stay, thank you.

Very helpful young staff - especially when our return taxi to the airport was 45 mins late! Room was clean and the bed was comfortable & spacious. Great shower. Breakfast had plenty of variety. Location was perfect in the middle of the Old Town but in a quiet little street. Would stay there again. My 5th time in Prague and definitely the best hotel.

Hotel was great and the rooms were large. We stayed in a room with the kitchen which was well equipped and allowed us to cook meals at home due to us having a 9 month old baby. The staff were really helpful. The only downside was that there weren't many English speaking TV channels, and having a young child means you spend quite a bit of time in the apartment.
