It's true the rooms are not very big. An upselll was tried on us, like every hotels seems to do nowadays, but as we were not planning on spending loads of time in our room anyway we decided to spend the money on more worthwhile things. Room was very clean though. The restaurant is kind of special in a good way, and to us the staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. Most of all : The location can't be beat, as the city is literally on your doorstep when staying here, and at a very affordable rate (could be because January is sort of dead for hotels, bur still.)

The behavior of the reception was very bad. At least they think they were the queens of Holland with very rude remarks not knowing that i understand dutch!Very small rooms with not central heating.Ill never go back again. It was my nightmare

Modern, clean, good value accommodationCentrally located, within easy walking distance of the central railway & bus & tram station. Our room was at the front of the building, overlooking the main thoroughfare. There was no disturbance from either traffic or the nearby bank holiday funfair. The room was 'compact' but sufficient for the two of us.Housekeeping was faultless.Front desk staff were extremely helpful. We didn't experience the restaurant and therefore cannot comment.

We loved this hotel! It was surprisingly quiet and cozy for such a busy location. Our room was very comfortable - small when compared with American hotel rooms, but plenty of room for us. Bed was exceedingly comfortable.

Bacon and coffee at breakfast looking our window. Staff was very nice. Dumb rule - You cannot sit by window and eat until lunch. Mini-bar and staff does not make a four star hotel. You first need a four star building, rooms, and floor plan. Glass bathroom doors wakes spouse in middle of night. Upgrade to next class room was worth it until we noticed sewer gas coming from somewhere in bathroom.

Great location!A very short walk from the central station, amazing location right round the corner from Dam square and the very safe red light, a love;y walk to Vondel Park and that end of town. Upon our arrival they gave us a room that was already occupied, but i dont think the man in the shower knew we were there! They immediately re-assigned us another room. The room was on the front street of Damrak but noise was very little, the bathrooms were 5* impeccable and the room was of a high standard, the beds were extremely comfortable! check out very simple and the staff were always wishing us a good day etc. The restaurant looked a bit too fancy for us commoners to dine in so we headed out for breakfast and meals!

Hotel rooms very small with a view across the alley to the hotel next door. We had a smoking room but it was not very clean or fresh. Maybe the non-smoking rooms are nicer. Nice location.

The location. The dirty carpets. Hotel was ok, we had upgraded to a superior room and was glad we did it since the regular rooms are VERY small. Other than that, good value for the money.

Location. Small rooms, really small bathrooms; security. This is not a 4 star hotel, not by any standards!

Great central location. Within walking distance of many important sites as well as the central train station. Easy to miss if you are walking on the sidewalk. Friendly staff, great location and clean, comfortable rooms.
