In the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough of western Berlin is the famous Ku’Damm (Kurfürstendamm), known for incredible shopping and dining. The area is also home to the unique Alsterhof Hotel, which is also in close proximity to the KaDeWe (Kaufhuse Des Westens) shopping center as well. A very pleasant hotel in a good area. A quiet street off the Ku-Damm (5 minutes' walk) and a U-bahn station literally one minute from the hotel. The current rebuilding in Berlin did mean the construction noise began at 7am but that would be the same anywhere in central Berlin!

Center located and clean. I asked for contact lenses solution at 1:00AM, the answer was "we do not have any" next day I walked in the shop, the first thing I saw was it. It was good, clean and in a good area. It was close to transportation, shops, and restaurants.

Very convenient for Zoo Bahnoff. Central for all purposes business or holiday. Very comfortable and excellent value.

Friendly staff. No real bar soft soap or shampoo, just dispensers. In room safes are antiquated and they charge for them. They should provide real soap bars and shampoo bottles, not the dispensers. Would not stay there in the summer as there is no A/C.

the hotel was in a very good location only a few minutes walk from the centre and a good starting point for the major tourist attractions . the staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel food was very good.

Location. Downgrade since booking, bathroom to small. For West-Berlin, Kudamm and KaDeWe-area very good location. Clean room, but a very small bathroom.

Clean, comfortable, convenient. I have no serious complaints. The hotel was in a perfect location for us. It was clean and comfortable. It was exactly what I would expect from a three star hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and would definately go back. It was great value for money and right in the centre of Berlin. We were a minutes walk from tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. Would not hesitate in recommending.

Very helpful staff and free Internet access plus printer in the lobby. Next time we go to Berlin we'll try to find a hotel in the former East part of town. Perfect hotel for people who love shopping sprees to KaDeWe, adequate 3 star rating.

nice location, close to some main attractions of Berlin, easy access to public transportation no toiletries in the bathroom but can be obtained from staff upon request very nice hotel, would definitely recommend it to friends

none the hotel staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. rude and incompetent. inconsistency in staff friendliness (night shift was much nicer than day/morning shift). perhaps there is a need for more staff training, as they were not informed about how to treat customers. at check-in, i was "overlooked" for 20 minutes by two staff members while they helped another demanding tour guide leader. twice, i was told by another staff member that i was not to receive soap until the morning; at check out, i was advised that i took something from the mini-bar (which, i did not, and needed to dispute). frustrating experience (even for a decent german speaker!)

Location. Lack of amenities, uneven helpfulness of staff. This is the second time I've asked for a 3-star hotel and had a "You've been upgraded" note. Both times the 4-star hotel fell short of what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. In this case, as in the other, the hotel was fine BUT, for example:- the first person I asked at the front desk to check about a train schedule told me to walk 1o m inutes over to the train station to check myself- the bathroom had what I assumed was liquid soap at the sink which needed to be moved to the shower and then moved back to the sink. There were no other bathroom amenities - no shampoo (perhaps the soap was good as shampoo but there was absolutely no label on the container), no body lotion, nothing.- Though the hotel had notes that they were committed to environmental protection and I asked the front desk NOT to change my towels the towels were changed anyway.Having said all that, the hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, the location was good.

Maid service was thorough and efficient. Room service would not answer phone on several occasions Overall, it was a good stay. I felt the location was good for this hotel. It was well kept, and for the most part efficiently run. However, I believe a 4 star rating on a hotel should be indicative of 4 star service, which I felt was not the case here. It seemed obvious that at least a couple of people at this hotel would rather not be working there. They were not very helpful, and certainly lacked warmth. I travel a LOT and there is nothing that makes me more homesick at hotels than speaking to receptionists and knowing I'm the only friendly person in the room.

Good location, clean, friendly staff The rooms and the double bed were a bit small. The rooms were hot and lot's of noise from outside Great hotel if you're looking for a place to stay. It could be a bit noisy in the morning from the street, but after a good night out it won't bother you too much.

Well located and comfortable room Miniscule bathroom, poor venitlation (no a/c), dumb staff This is really more a three than four star hotel. Rooms were ok but not more than that; bathrooms inadequate and rooms got very warm ans stuffy. Location is excellent. Staff was stupid on check in and never seemed to improve much.
