Good value modern room in an expensive cityStayed here just one night before moving to the Ibis. The room was very modern ( a nice surprise given that this is not a new build) and very clean. The room faced the road but was still very quiet. The room was relatively small but okay relative to standards in Holland. In terms of value for money, I wish I'd saved 50 euros and not moved hotel- this is good value for Amsterdam.Now the downsides: the hotel is a little further out than I would have liked (2-3 stops on the metro which is right outside the door, but a 25 min walk if you don't use the metro). The reception is not the friendliest and they try to charge you a 3% visa card fee even though the reservation through late rooms is made at a fixed price and reserved on the visa card that will incur this fee- no mention of this fee is made on late rooms.... Finally, the breakfast is not worth even trying- but there are plenty of great eats close by. In summary, not bad if you want a nice clean and modern bedroom near a metro station for a reasonable (for Amsterdam) price!

nice experienceI found the staff helpful and manager nice when I wanted to change booking. The room was really nice and comfortable. It was a cosy hotel and I enjoyed my stay.

Excellent Service and Room!On arrival, I found that through undue haste in making the booking the previous night, I had booked that night (i.e. the night prior to that which I required) by mistake! However, as they still had a room spare the night I arrived, I was able to stay - and as I had, of course, been charged for the previous night when I had not appeared, they most kindly and very graciously said they would not make any further charge. The double room I had was large, comfortable, clean and very pleasant. I appreciated their kindness and enjoyed a very comfortable and quiet night.
