The Hostal Opera , as the name indicates &44 is a hostel; therefore , one cannot expect the same luxuries as those offered by some of the other establishments located in the city centre. However , the Hostal Opera is an excellent option for guests who are willing to forego some of the more elaborate and refined details but still want an ideal , central location. Located on Carrer Sant Pau , almost at the corner of the famous Rambla , the hostel is close to important tourist attractions like the Boqueria Market and the Gran Teatre del Liceu (one of the absolutely essential gems for any travel photo album). During the day , it is the perfect place from which to embark on a number of routes , especially those covering the Gothic Quarter , the Raval or the Born. At night the environment can be rather colourful , depending on the moment , but it hosts one of the largest concentrations of bars and restaurants in the entire city. The hostel itself is simple and excellent value for money. Although it offers no frills , the reasonable rate you pay for a double room right next to the Rambla is a major incentive for choosing this hostel as accommodation during your stay in Barcelona.
