Great Location Clean staff freindly
Date of Stay:
June, 2009
It was across the street from the hotel my friend was in. The linens were soiled and the staff did very little to appease the situation. This hotel did very little to meet our expectations. It was, for lack of a better term, a dump. I would like a refund. The linens had urine and fecal stains all over them. When we asked the desk to assist, they refused to answer our calls from the room direct. We had to use a cell phone to contact them so that they did not know it was us calling. When they did send someone with clean linen they threw the linen on the floor and we had to ask them to remove the soiled linen. My husband had to make the bed himself. It was a terrible experience.

We knew it is not going to be 5 star hotel, but we were nicely surprised. At the check in we asked for rooms with 2 double beds and with balcony and we got it. We had beautiful lake view too. Rooms were clean and the whole hotel was very nice. The buffet on Saturday, Sunday and Monday was GREAT for only $9.99. Shuttle bus was on time every 20 minutes... All over... great place to stay for less.

Friendly staff, great location, spacious room and had a nice view. This hotel was comfortable, the staff at the front desk personable and the location was awesome. Overall a very comfortable stay.

The hotel room was a clean room in the Alpine tower as promised and I was able to get a King Non smoking room. Room was plain with no extras such as a coffee pot. The resturant breakfast special was very good for $3.99. Overall good experience. Room was cleaned every day when I returned from skiing. The room was hot since the air conditioner was not able to be turned on. Opened window to cool off.

We had been there before, but will never return...It was not as good as I remembered. First they took 15 minutes to find our reservation, then we finally got to our room and the tv didn't work. So as we tried to use the phone to call the front desk, that didn't work either...As we left to go to dinner we told them and they gave some excuse I still don't know why. We had to move down the hall to another room. It was all a bit silly...We did see a great show there, the male impersonators, they were great! The only good thing they have going at that hotel...

I read the bad reviews and was very nervous about staying here, but our expereince was just fine. It is a nice three star hotel. If you are expecting more than a three star hotel, don't stay here. Casino is nice, we used the outdoor hot tub daily, "resort fee" was minimal ($5 per day per room) and check-in came with $5 match play in the casino and game room tokens. Good happy hour, conveniently located, access to pool at montblue across street. Only complaint is that casino didn't have a sportsbook.

The hotel was right in the middle of the casinos, which is where we were coming to play. The check in was easy, plenty of dinning, valet parking. Just don't get hungry while in your room. There isno room service. We went to the 24 hour four seasons and got our food to go though. The gaming tables are out of the resort until middle of summer. It is changing ownership. Movie theater located at resort. Close to everything. LOts of fun.

It was right on the strip. No AC in room. It was unbareable to be in. Room was clean and comfortable. Big downside though, no AC in room and it was smoldering hot.

This was our 2nd stay and our Final one at this hotel!!!! We arrived and tried to check in at 3:00, the front desk clerk informed us our room was not ready yet and that we could check back in an hour. After seeing a movie, we checked back only to be told by the same lady the same line. This was at 5:30. Afer waiting around till 6:00, we asked another clerk when the room would be done, he said we have one but on a lower floor. We accepted after waiting for over 3 hours. We realized we were not in the tower we paid $10.00 extra for, so we went back to the hotel desk and requested we have a room in the Alpine tower that we were charged extra for. He said since we booked with a 3rd party, it was only "if available", and yet they would not change the price since it was not available. They were not willing to work with us at all!! We ended up in a smoking room, with 2 very worn out double beds, and a thermostat that was stuck on 81 degrees.! We also were charged a "resort fee" which when we booked it doesn't mention anything about. It is for the validated parking, newspaper and water. No mention of it beforehand, only at checkout. We do not plan on returning to this hotel again. You are better off spending a little more and actually get a nights sleep and a clean room. We stay in a lot of different hotels and find this one to be the worst!!! Try the Motel 6 down the road, it will seem like luxury there!

WE RESERVED A ROOM FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND WENT TO TAHOE. I HAD RESERVED A NON-SMOKING ROOM WITH 1 KING SIZE BED. WHEN I CHECKED IN THE FRONT DESK TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOT KING SIZE ROOM NON SMOKING. SHE DIDNT EVEN CHECK TO SEE AND TOLD US THAT IT HAD TO BE A SMOKING ROOM. I DIDNT WANT TO GET ANGRY, SO I TOLD THE LADY THAT I WOULD TAKE IT. I WAITED IN THE LOBBY AS MY GIRL FRIEND WENT TO THE BATHROOM AND THE FRONT DESK TOLD ANOTHER CUSTOMER THAT THEY HAD A NON SMOKING KING. I WAS ANGRY BUT TIRED OF DEALING WITH THEM, SO I JUST WENT TO MY ROOM. WHEN WE GOT TO THE ROOM I WAS EVEN MORE ANGRY. THE ROOM WAS HORRIBLE. IT WAS NEXT TO THE PARKNG LOT. THE WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY. THE BATH ROOM WAS OLD. AND THE ROOM STUCK....i JUST SAID FORGET IT , ITS MY BIRTHDAY AND I JUST LET IT GO AND ENJOYED THE REST OF MY BIRTH, I WOULD RATHER STAY ACROSS THE STREET AT MONT BLEU FOR THE SAME PRICE. THANKS FOR ALMOST MESSING UP MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Next time I would rather spend a few $$$ more to stay at Embassy Suites or one of the other nicer hotels. Horizon is OLD and run down. The BED was like sleeping on the floor. But, we did have fun downstairs in the Casino and did with some big bucks. It was a fun trip....but next time we will stay at a nicer hotel.

Nothing. No control of heating/cooling in room. No room service it has been eliminated. Absolutely horrible! This establishment should not even be in business. Staff is not helpful, room service has been eliminated, cannot control comfort level in your room with heating/cooling, beds are very uncomfortable, carpet felt dirty, and overall it was very unpleasant.

After booking throughonline travel agency , hotel was not able to accomodate 1 King bed. Wife and I had to sleep in two seperate beds on our anniversary. Housekeeping was a joke. They made our beds, pickuped towels. That was it. We went downstairs to the Four Seasons diner and finally had to walk out after waiting for 45 minutes for our food. Would not stay here again!!!!!

The Horizon Hotel with nice because of all the amenities the hotel offered. We took advantage of almost every one. The starbucks kiosk, theater, etc. We were satisfied but the only few things that we were unhappy with was the heater did not work in our room, the room service was too much for the amount of food we received and the rent c op in the parking garage was very rude to us. Other than that we would have had the best time!

Well located. Rooms were dated. Good location. Moderate price. Rooms need updating.
