We spent three nights in Chicago on our way from London to Santa Fe to visit our son. We loved Chicago, so decided to stay on our way back too. This hotel was cheaper than our first one, and we liked it much better although not so 'posh'. We bought a travel card and visited the Hancock Tower, the Art Institute and Navy Pier, also the millenium park, all of which were within easy reach. Would definitely recommend it for families as the kitchen and the breakfast and evening meal are ideal for people on a budget.

Great location, good for travelers with children, nice amenities. This hotel was great for travelers with children. Nice breakfast and light dinner. The suite set up with stove, fridge, dishes, etc. were a great way to go when kids make meals out difficult.

My sisters and I go to Chicago yearly for a weekend getaway. Since there are 5 of us it is usually hard to find a hotel to accomodate our needs. We were so happy with the Homewood Suites that it will be our hotel of choice for our annual pilgrimage. The staff was all so friendly and even though our room wasn't ready exactly when we got there ( we were a couple hours early ) the bellhop checked our bags and told us where to find a bar in which we could knock back a couple beers and watch our favorite Cubbies. There were so many restaurants within walking distance and we were just paces away from Michigan Ave. so the location was perfect. The free breakfast was wonderful and I really appreciated the fact that there was a hostess so you didn't feel like someone was going to steal your chair when you went for refills. The food tasted great, too! The room was a good size and it slept the five of us quite easily. We had a terrific view from the 19th floor and really enjoyed the view from the pool area as well. We will definitely stay here every year!

For a Family of three the room was roomy and the value of breakfast and light dinner(happy Hour)was great especially in a city that was a bit over whelming. Every staff member that we came in contact with was friendly and willing to advise you on the area and transportation options. We would book with a Homewood Suites again in our travels.

The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The parking was a little expensive, but you had a valet to bring your car to you and you come and go as much as you wanted.

Hotel was in a very convenient location for shopping Michigan Ave. I would recommend eating at Joe's (on the same block) or Blackie's which is on the same road, however, on the other side of Michigan Ave. They had burgers the size of your head! The hotel was neatly kept and the front desk staff very friendly. The daily HOT breakfast buffet was very nice.

I was in Chicago on a business trip and made a long weekend of it. This Homewood Suites has an excellent location and super-friendly staff. My room had a cool view of the new Trump complex and other skyscrapers and was very clean and quiet. PROS: - Rooms have kitchens, and cleaning people wash your dishes in the dishwasher every day - Jewl-Osco and Trader Joe's are around the corner for groceries - Free hot breakfast with take-away containers - 7th floor laundry room (1.25 in quarters to wash or dry) - My room was very quiet - I never heard any neighbors (some street noise - cars beeping, etc. - but I like that) - Room was pretty spacious and very clean - Business center has free access to computers for internet access, and a nice view of Bloomingdale's home store - Location is awesome - on same block as Room & Board, across from Nordstrom, just west of Michigan Ave. - shops and restaurants everywhere - Free use of Crunch gym next door in addition to hotel fitness room CONS: - 7th floor, where laundry room is, reeked of cigarette smoke. Luckily I only had to go there briefly. - Laundry room is tiny - 2 washers, 2 dryers in a space the size of a bathroom (and you have to go down to the lobby shop to buy detergent & dryer sheets) - The air conditioning system has a quirk whereby if the outside temperature is below 45 degrees, it won't blow cool air. I thought my system was broken, but the maintenance guy who came explained the quirk to me. He opened the windows to let in some cool air. Overall, an excellent place to stay and great value. I'll definitely return!

Was here for a wedding, but also did some centralized downtown sightseeing while my family and I were there. The hotel staff are very friendly, know the area very well, are very good with sightseeing suggestions, and the rooms are very clean, quiet, and very tastefully decorated with restful themes and colors. I used to be a travel agent for many years and have learned to be quite picky about where I stay. For the value, and the excellent rooms and friendly staff, I would gladly recommend this to any family, business traveller, or leisure vacationing clients. It is within walking distance to many sightseeing locations, or if needed, a taxi cab ride, is easily available.

Amazing staff! Great room! Great location! I liked everything! Great for families visiting Chicago. The suites have a small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and a dishwasher. It is very conveniently located to most of the attractions or a short taxi cab ride to get to the others. It was amazing! The staff is so polite and eager to help! It was great!

I chose this hotel for a recent family trip to Chicago based on location, price and other traveller reviews. I was not disappointed. Each employee, from the valet to the folks serving breakfast, was courteous and eager to answer questions. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. We loved the free internet service as well as the generous free breakfast each morning. Hotel was within walking distance to pretty much everything, and if it wasn't, the subway was only a block away. Navy Pier free trolley stops right outside the hotel. I would recommend this hotel again and again. The value for the money just can't be beat!

We always stay at Homewod when we visit Chicago, usually twice a year. Great location, yards from Michigan Avenue, CTA and choice of restaurants. Staff always courteous and obliging.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites in downtown Chicago for one night on Thanksgiving. We arrived late afternoon and were promptly greeted by two parking attendees. They quickly gathered up our luggage and parked our car. In and out valet is $38, self park is $35, so go for the valet, just call about 10 minutes ahead of time, or use the shuttle at the hotel. Our bags met us just minutes after we walked in the room. The room was a King suite and was ample room for 2 adults and 2 children. Very clean and welcoming. We ate dinner at the ESPN Sportszone on the other side of the building, although we could have had a free full course Thanksgiving meal at the hotel. After our dinner and game play at ESPN, we walked back around the corner to the hotel and the kids swam in the pool, which was very clean on the 19th floor and enjoyed the beautiful view. We enjoyed an in room movie later that night for $12, and then off to sleep. The bed was comfortable but I always recommend your own pillow, others just are not the same! My daughter and I took a short $5 cab ride to the American Girl Store on Friday morning and shopped in a busy but not uncomfortable AG store for an hour or so. After our short cab ride back, we had missed breakfast by 30 minutes, but they let us make to go plates for dining in our roon which was awesome. The breakfast is free and really good. Eggs, potatoes, fruit, cereal, bagesl, etc. We booked this room on line for ** and we will definitely stay again. It is across form Nordstrom and Bloomingdales and near coutnless restaurants. This place is great!

I picked this hotel because of other reviews I read and was NOT disappointed. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and prompt. Free coffee and tea all day. (Welcomed during cold weather!!!)Best feature(s): a fabulous Sunday morning brunch. We did not eat again until Sunday dinner! Free membership (during stay) to Crunch fitness next door & location to restaurants and El.Worst feature: You have to use valet parking, so go ahead and add 36 per 24 to your hotel price. But in Chicago, what other choice do you have?

Overall a good hotel. One bellmen named X seemed genuine in wanting to help our family. Unfortunately we did not see him till the last day of our stay and he was rewarded for his help. I think the others prejudged and missed out. Housekeeping was great and accomodating, Service desk was a rushed.
