The Hometown Inn was clean and the room was spacious, recently refurbished and pleasant, though lacking in modern amenities such as internet access. The exterior was still being worked on with some construction debris around. The parking was secure but sparse.

Stayed at Hometown Inns to visit my son at Cal State Northridge and was surprised at how nice the rooms were considering the low rates

On arrival to hotel I noticed it was not in a very safe neighborhood. I checked in at the front desk with the assistance of someone who spoke very little English if any at all. I arrived in my room and noticed grafiti on the tv and mirror and mold in the bathroom. Also they were undergoing property construction. I let the front desk known of my concerns with property upkeep and he began to yell at me telling me that I was just trying to find everything wrong. This was not the case. Not safe for children.

I loved the room. For the price I was very pleased. Now the staff had attitude that unless they can generate some common sense I would just assume staying somewhere else.
