We went to spend a few days in Boston and needed a hotel in between Gillette Stadium and downtown Boston. It was at a perfect location, and the staff was so nice! It's meant for extended stays, so we had our own full kitchen, which was great when we brought leftovers back to the hotel. No frills but we weren't in the room much. It served it's purpose and we'd stay there again.

The hotel conditions of the room and building was excellent.

After checking into the room, the bathroom had, what appeared to be, black mold around the tub and peeling wall paper. The easy chair had a huge stain on the left arm and the remote had a dead battery. It was too late to complain or change Hotels, so I stuck it out and thought I would share my experience with others to help them avoid the revulsion!

"ROACHES!!" ...need I say more??!! Our family stayed here for one night while on a college visit....I had originally booked it for two nights. We killed 2 roaches in the kitchen area that night. My kids were so freaked out that we slept with the lights on. It was too late to switch hotels but we checked out the next morning and found a room at a different hotel for the second night. Also, when we first arrived at the roach infested hotel - at the 3:00 PM check-in time - the room was not ready and we had to wait an hour for it to be cleaned. What a joke!!

We were attending a Harvard graduation and sight-seeing. The hotel was located fairly close to Cambridge and Boston. For the price it was a good location; however, a car rental is recommended for access to landmarks and dining.

Good location for business, if you have a car. Ask for a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor! OK if you plan to stay for long and you can use the fridge, kitchen, etc. Otherwise, don't even bother.

This is great for a week or longer stay. The room is a nice size and clean with a comfy chair and ottoman. The kitchenette contains the necessities and is functional. The hotel lets you know the services to expect upon check-in (and on their website). I would have found cleaning services daily an unnecessary inconvenience for my week long stay, and don't mind getting fresh towels when I need them, etc. The desk is always manned with a cheerful person and they were most courteous and helpful. If all Homesteads are as nice as this one, I will look for one whenever I travel. Thanks.

Clean, quiet, convenient - needs ice machine though!

The Homestead Boston was to be an extended stay hotel - the reason it was chosen. The hotel was dirty, the rooms were so-so, furniture (sofa) was dirty and ragged, carpet on floor was not clean. Minimal amenities - no service on weekend without extra charges. Overall - on a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 at the top is was well below a 1. Will not stay there again. In rating the hotel dining options - there were no options - hotel did not provide any dining services that we were aware of.

Affordable hotel in a good location. Very minimal amenities - not even shampoo in the bathroom! The hotel room was what I had expected: simple, with the amenities typical of an extended stay hotel (mini-kitchen). However, there were small amenities missing (shampoo in the bathroom, for example) that diminished my overall experience.

While my wife underwent surgery in Boston, the hotel staff from the management on down bent over backwards to make sure that my wife and I were comfortable and that we had everything we needed for the short time that my wife spent recovering there. Whether it was providing directions or extra pillows, the hotel went out of their way to make sure that all of our needs were met during our stay. For a 2 star hotel they acted and performed like a 4 star. I would definitely recommend them for anyone visiting the greater Boston area.

Very kind and nice stuff, room is tidy and the kitchen is very useful. But the fridge noise should be avoided.

This was a good surprise to find a clean well maintained hotel in the Boston area for this great rate. Pillows were comfortable (major issue for me), room was clean, location was convenient. The staff had several good dining recommendations within a short drive.

The location. Unfriendly staff, dirty room and unclean restroom. The hotel staff was extremely unaccountable.

Great deal for the money! Room was very clean and much larger than I expected for that price.

This hotel was below average (I guess you get what you pay for since it was cheap). The carpets in the lobby and room were dirty and I just did not feel the bed was too clean either. I could not even purchase a bottle of water because the machine was empty. I must say the staff at the front desk was very nice.

Cheap price and location near my business client. Minor problems that could have been fixed easily. Some issues with a bad iron that had lost its Teflon coating, parts of the facade of the bathroom vanity had come off and just needed to be glued back up. Not enough food offerings on site.

Had told them that there was a 3rd person that would be staying with us a month before we went on our trip. When we got there, they didn't change our room or anything, we were stuck sharing a Queen sized bed (very uncomfortable!). The next morning I spoke with the person at the front desk & told them our situation & he said a room would be ready for us in an hour. Went to the new room, it was NOT ready. We left & rented a car, came out 2 hours later, the room was still NOT ready. We left again, came back at night & the room was, you guessed it, NOT ready! They ended up giving us 2 separate rooms for that night & by the 3rd day our room was finally ready. It was an awful hotel experience & I would NEVER stay there again!

The Homestead looked nice enough and had all you needed to cook, eat, store and reheat your own food. It lends itself to people on extended stays and that explains the lack of the usual complimentary shampoo, conditioner and lotion but only offers 2 flattened pillows for your extended uncomfortable slumber. They charge you $4.99 for internet use for the extent of your stay which isn't great, but isn't horrific either. what they don't offer is any literature in your room explaining any amenities on site, i.e. pool, fitness area and because of this, I'm not even sure if they had any. There was no mention of any throughout the hotel either. The staff was friendly enough, but it was hit or miss if you were walking into a room with all it was supposed to come with: tissue box, soap dish.

Staff was friendly. No breakfast. The hotel was clean, but there was no fruit or danish for breakfast.
