This Homestead property is conveniently located approximately eight miles from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and 20 miles from the Everglades. The hotel specializes in extended-stay itineraries and thus provides on-site laundry facilities and provides dry cleaning service. Housekeeping service is provided on a twice-weekly basis for guests staying seven nights or more. Guests staying more than four nights (but less than a week) receive the mid-week refresh only. One pet is accepted per guestroom. The general manager has the authority to allow additional pets per room, based on his or her own discretion. Fees and deposits apply. All guestrooms have full kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, and dining and cooking utensils. Other room amenities include workspaces with computer dataports, one dollar per stay unlimited local phone calls, personalized voicemail, and irons and full-size ironing boards. Pet Policy- One pet per room is allowed. A 25 USD cleaning fee will be charged per night, not to exceed 150 USD. This charge will be applied at check-in.

The place was not clean. There was hair all over the dresser, the sheets were not great. The room smelled funny.

Having stayed at a Homstead property in Jacksonville, FL that was very roomy, clean and bright, this place was a real disappointment. The room was small and cramped. The nightstand was wedged between the bed and the wall and had a corner missing. The fitted sheet was too small and kept popping off the bed all night. There were little gnat type bugs in the kitchen & bathroom. In the morning found what looked like a dead grasshopper in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable but when you sat on the end of it, it crunched like it had an old plastic covering over the mattress. In the kitchen the refrigerator door opens the wrong way and was hard to get into. The drinking glasses were hard to find. We were suppose to stay for 2 nights but only stayed for one. Also, the price was over * higher per night than what we paid in Jacksonville.

The Homestead was a clean, very comfortable hotel that offered a complete kitchen! The beds were extremely comfortable. The check in staff were funny & personable & very accomodating. Only downfalls, no continental breakfast, had to drive to nearest restaurants,(whice there were a wide variety w/in a mile), but the room more than made up for the slight inconvienence. Would gladly stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 weeks. First impression was good, however room cleaning needs improvement. Bath really smelled bad, carpet was dirty, the mattress need to be changed as is too soft and last but not least, housekeeping did not performe the cleanning on the 7th day as stated when checked inn. Duty hotel manager, though, made his best in order to appologize about it and did an excellent service recovery by deducting one hotel night accomodation when we checkd out.

when we came in to our room it had a unusual smell, not the crisp clean smell u get in some hotels. the room was neat and clean. staff was polite and accomadating. the location was quite safe and close to everying we need to go to.

My family and myself had a brief opportunity to stay at Homestead Fort Lauderdale - Plantation from 1/4/08 through 1/5/08. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but decided to cut short by one night because of poor upkeep of the room and water had a greenish tinge to it. I was told by the front desk personel that water was like that because it came from a well.

Helpful front desk staff, easy parking. Bathroom not great, but worked. Staff was very helpful when I arrived very late. Convenient to highways and lots of stuff nearby. Pillows were not very big and bed was cheap.

Conveniently located and kid-friendly. Walls were very thin. I could hear people in the rooms nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location. Room was clean and when I asked for a roll away bed, they brought it within minutes. I had the air conditioning on the lowest setting but still felt warm. Overall though, I had a good experience for the 2 nights that I stayed there. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff is helpful, the hotel is presentable and clean, shopping around the corner. The pillows were small and flat. The bed should have been at least a queen. My overall experience for a weekend stay as a leisure traveler was well beyond adequate. The roads can be a little intimidating if you are not used to the area.
