terrible soap, the staff didn´t really try to help with information or something, the rooms are spacios, though they have a funny odor, one bus drops you at the chinese theatre and the subway that is only 4 blocks away, takes you to universal studios. the area though isn´t fancy at all has great thailand food and people around are friendly

i called to find the check in time, they said 4pm. i had a wedding that i needed to shower before so i just showed up at 2pm and had no problem checking in. the room smelled moldy. it was not subltle. walking and water use in the room upstairs was clearly audible. it looks like a cool, Hollywood pool court motel. they offered donuts, juice and coffee in the morning. i generally prefer to stay at cheaper, independent motels, but the stink was gross. good thai food nearby.

Staff or owners were not accommodating to our needs. We did not receive internet until the last day.

A terrible location far from anything of any interest in Hollywood and frankly scary for most tourists, and a shabby dilapidated property convinced me not to stay there.

This hotel is the worst one we have stayed in. There was mold in the bathtub, bottom was dirty even after housekeeping. the frig was all iced up and didnt stay cool. The cont. breakfast was a joke. The dead bolt didnt lock. The pool needed repair and was dirty. And the parking sucked. The neighborhood was shabby looking. And the list goes on.......

I went to this hotel during the true colors tour 2008 at the greek theatre up the street on vermont. There was plenty of different kinds of resturants close by. It only took 10-15 min to drive to the greek theatre up the hill. The hotel looked ok but it was comfortable and check in and the staff were really good. I would recommend this hotel just a one nighter.

The hotel parking space very small, we had to park on the street. The continental breakfast not good. Donuts, coffe and orange juice. Bed covers too old. Bathroom walls moldy. Very unpleasent odor in rooms. Lobby staff didn't know how to give directions to restaurants, they said they had no idea. This was a very upleaseant stay in this hotel specially because we had small kids traveling with us and as parents we want the best accomodations for our families when you go on vacation. 15 minutes away from this hotel we found a better hotel for $20.00 more and it was great. I would never recommned this hotel to any one.

It's just ok for the price. The frige is conveniant. But there is no alarm clock in the room, no facial tissue. Also, it's pretty noisy since it's on a very busy street.

I would recommend this to a friend for a hotel to stay at if they were just in LA for an event. If they were traveling for lesiure and possily staying in the room most of the time, then I would not. I thought the room would be about $10 to $15 less.

Given the nieghborhood, this wasn't a bad hotel to saty at. The neighborhood is dirty, as is most of Hollywood Blvd, but this little hotel was clean, and the price was good for being so close (7 blocks down) to the good part of Hoolywood blvd. Staff was freindly, and the great Thai food surrounding the hotel was awesome.

Although the room was large, with a table and desk, and there was a big dressing area with full mirror separated from the bathroom, the bed had a huge dip in the middle, was very uncomfortable, and there were long black hairs on my pillow. I made a ball out of clothes and put my head on that instead. In retrospect, I would've gladly spent $30 - $50 more and had a much cleaner, more comfortable, friendlier experience. Make sure you take everything with you when you leave! This hotel has no lost and found. They throw everything away when they clean your room, so don't leave anything important behind like I did.

Wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews I read were mixed. But the room was a nice size, it was clean, there was free wifi (although had some connectivity problems at times) and a small fridge. Parking was limited but the clerk showed me where to park. Would definitely stay there again.

The Hollywood Inn Express North was just a generic, nothing special hotel. There was next to no parking, The bed spread had what appeared to be a blood stain on it, and the fridge was faulty. the pool looked decent, and it was in a little Thai district so there was plenty of Thai food around. It was in a decent location as far as sites go but again, It was Nothing special.

I was surprised at how nice the rooms because the neighborhood seemed a little edgy. The parking was very cramp. I liked that fact that the hotel offered free wireless access. It was a key in the comfort and convenience of my stay. The outside appearance was satisfactory as I noticed that the hotel had probably done some renovations including painting the doors an inviting, rich hunter-green color. The room ac/heat was regulated well by the thermostat and the bathroom area was adequate as well. The room offered a good work area and I enjoyed my stay overall.

The office was creapy, but the exterior of the hotel looked OK and it was late at night (due to a diverted flight), so we decided to take the room. When we walked into the room the smell of smoke was incredible! We turned the air conditioner fan on high, hoping fresh air would help. About 2 hours later we both had head-aches and decided to see if we could find a hotel with a non-smoking room. The next morning we returned to check out.

The Holiday Inn Express was very cozy. I liked the idea that we were only 8 minutes from Universal stuidos. The setting was very comfortable. The only thing it was missing was a microwave but we made do. The bathroom was clean and away from our bed. It was a very good stay.
