Kitchenete is a plus but rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis.

This is my 3rd trip to HI. I have stayed at the Aqua Palms 1st time, and then the Hilton Hawaiian Village and then here. If I had known about this place the first 2 times I would have only opted to stay here - I could have saved TONS of money by eating lunch and breakfast in the room or packing the food to go. At the other, more expensive hotels, non of that was even an option. I always try to go low budget and this place was perfect. This is an older building, but the owners are upgrading the rooms. It does show some wear and tear in areas, BUT not to the point that you feel "ghetto". Since it is a family owned facility, the upgrades are a little slower. I did not stay in an upgraded room, but it was still VERY decent, and clean, especially for the price. Daily they would come in and make up the whole room, or do what was simply asked of them, which is what we would do. Once when we were gone during the cleaning time, they came in and even washed our dirty dishes. It came with stove, fridge, dishes and all. We stayed in just the regular 2 double bed suite. The room was good sized and we started with a family of 3 and ended up with 5 towards the end. If we had known we would definitely have 5 we would have opted for the 1 bdrm suite for more room. This hotel is only a couple blocks away from the major shopping, dining, busy nightlife and entertainment of Waikiki. The hotel is NOT in an overly noisy area though. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a budget friendly trip.
