We have just returned from our four day trip to Toronto in which we stayed at the Holiday Inn Yorkdale. After winning so many awards and seeing the beautiful pictures I was confident that our stay would be great. Upon returning to our room on the second evening we found our patio door opened, which we discovered wouldn't lock. After notifying the front desk they assured us that it would be fixed in the morning. Two days went by and they never fixed it, along with no face clothes one night (they sent us up 3 hand towels and 1 face cloth) and the Cafe Express not being opened because of their summer hours (no signage to indicate this). This hotel has a "Hospitality Promise" that states that you will not have to pay for the portion of your stay that you're not satisfied with. Since I wasn't satisfied for the last two nights of my stay I mentioned this at checkout and the manager tried to refund us $50 which he switched to one night free once he found out that the first representative offered the four of us all free breakfast which was a better offer than his, even though $50 off was "his best". I couldn't believe that a hotel with so many awards could have such poor customer service and they instructed me to call 1-800-Holiday for more of a refund. Upon calling their toll free number one of the managers told me I should have left the hotel and one nights refund was sufficient in her opinion. I will pass on Holiday Inn's own recommendation to everyone and recommend that you stay at another hotel. Obviously the safety and satisfaction of their customers is not a priority and they do not stand by their Hospitality Promise.

The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The location makes it noisy.

The problems I had with this hotel: my room faced the interior of the building (overlooking the pool, restaurants, and kids' center, which are all clumped together in full view of one another) which meant I got no fresh air and no natural light. I ate three meals in the hotel, out of necessity, and all were disappointing. I'm not sure how you make scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon unpalatable, but they managed it. They also tried to bill me for my entire stay upon check-out, even though I booked through Travel website. Access to Yorkdale Shopping Centre and the TTC is across a major highway and two large parking lots. They charge for local calls. The pillows on the bed were thick and hard. The room's thermostat was set to perma-freeze, unless turned off completely. I would not stay again.

Everyone was so nice there. The front desk was exceptional and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Every employee took the extra time to smile and make eye contact when passing you in the hallways. The service in the restaurant was definitely good but I wouldn't say excellent. There was a pool, hot tub and fantastic fitness facility along with a tennis court and business centre with internet access. My room was very clean and spacious.

The hotel staff is very detailed and considerable. Service requests were followed up by a call from guest service to ensure requests were accomendated. The front office employees were also impressed. I was very worried when traveling with my senior parents to Canada and they all took good care of us. Services are beyond 5 star. Thank you.Rgds,Nicole

No surprises. The hotel was as expected. My problem is the fact that I had to spend on taxis to and from the wedding as I was given a hotel outside of the Vaughn region. Horrible experience.

The staff at the front desk were really good with customer service. Being greated by a smile goes a long ways for first impressions. What I like the most was the continuous follow-up with meeting the needs of the client. This was done by notes on table in the room, a message on the answering machine, and a greeting card. Furthermore, I liked how the card and the notes had a personal name included - instead of the generic ""9th floor attendant"" or ""front desk."" For a hotel that focuses on its employees as well as its clients, I give two thumbs up.

Nothing special. Too far out of town, locked parking lot. Fire alarm was set off at 12:30 am, stood in the parking lot for an hour, then they couldn't get the alarm off, then my key wouldn't work. Had to walk up/down nine flights of stars twice. I was not happy.
