Under construction, small rooms, to expensive for what you get, unattractive bedding, small pillows.
Date of Stay:
January, 2007
My room was large and obviously newly renovated. King-sized bed was very comfortable and bath brand new. Exercise room was small, but had what you need. Staff was very friendly. I agree with other posts that meals in restaurant were sub-par. Dinner selection was limited and not very good, but breakfast buffet was just fine for what you'd expect for a free breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We liked the garden. Difficult to get in and out due to heavy traffic.

The hotel was in a location convenient to shopping, restaurants and the interstate. The hotel and restaurant staff were cordial and always willing to assist us.

The hotel was clean, came with a free business center, continental breakfast, and parking. It was close to the train to the city and lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel is getting older but reasonably priced for the area.

Do not stay here - I booked a room because it was a few bucks cheaper than the other local hotels, much to my regret. Problems: HVAC blows directly on the bed so you're either freezing cold or sweating; linens and towels must be washed without fabric softener; bed uncomfortable; television speakers are blown out; no refrigerator in room; front desk didn't have change of a 10 bill for us to use the vending machine; and the night attendant at the front desk was rude.

Location. I had a problem with my TV. I had to call the front desk twice. The mechanic came and could not resolve the problem. He left saying he will be back in 5 minutes. He never came nor did he call.

The hotel itself was great but the cafe and service were the worst. The hours were bad and you were only allowed 2 continental breakfast even if 4 people were staying there.

The room was clean and comfortable and had a very nice plasma TV that was a pleasant surprise upon my arrival. I usually stay in luxury hotels so this was a bit of a step or 2 down from what I am used to. The hotel is a perfect place to stay in the Carl Place, NY area if you just want a clean, comfortable place to sleep at night.

Very nice staff, clean, quiet and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was not as full of a selection provided at other places. Overall a nice place to rest! Great location to the area. Pleasant employee's and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

Nothing. Not worth the three stars. The facilities could have been much better. The bathroom was cheaply put together. Half of the mirror was coming off. The bathroom door was cheap. The hallways were dark and dank. There is a bar/nightclub attached to the hotel and they were having a party that night that the hotel clerk told me was done, but obviously wasn't. It is worth the money and the star status.

very comfortable beds. The woman who checked us out charged my credit card 2 times.

The front desk staff was helpful and cheerful. The corridors were gloomy; the room was stuffy and smelled bad. I would not recommend it. It is not a 3 star hotel.

It was convenient to my destination and clean. The staff was uniformly courteous. Breakfast at their restaurant was quite tasty. I would have liked an extra blanket in the room and they did not sell newspapers on Sundays.

Great location for shopping No indoor pool Good, moderate hotel. Would have preferred less busy location. The best part of the room were the beds - extremely comfortable but would have preferred regular pillows rather than small cushion-sized ones!

Its location to general area of interest. Rooms are too small, was infested with ants. Despite excellent location I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The restaurant was good. Room was not ready at 7:30pm. I had to wait for my room to be cleaned and I arrived at 7:30pm. I then was given a handicapped room and I am not handicapped. The room was located next to an exit that was used over and over and was extremely loud.

The restaurant was excellent. Heating unit in the room was difficult to control. In general, this was a nice hotel. The restaurant was excellentboth the continental breakfast and regual meals had good food at reasonable prices. The rooms were quiet and clean. The only problem was that the heating and cooling unit was difficult to control (either too hot or cold) and the fan blew right on the bed closest to the unit. This was true in both rooms. A small fridge in the room would have been convenient. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay.

Convenient to shopping and the highway. Ants in the room. The hotel was located conveniently a few blocks from the Meadow brook Pkwy and right across from Roosevelt Field. The fitness room was tiny (think utility closet). Beware, do not get a room below the fitness room. Unfortunately we did and banging (someone on the treadmill) at 6.AM can be a rude awakening. We also had ants in the room.

The hotel was welcoming and conveniently located to the parkway. Pulling into and out of the hotel can be tricky for some. My stay at the Holiday Inn was very brief but pleasant. The staff was friendly and the bed was very comfortable. Perhaps adding a little more light to the bathroom would be a good idea. It was just slightly dimly lit for my preference.
