It was a nice place and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fine--great waitress-- but it would have been nice if they put out some muffins or bagels in the morning.

Staff was friendly. The hotel smelled like nasty cigarettes. Rooms were ok and clean. Bartender made generous drinks. The smell of cigarettes in the hall ways was nasty and I am a smoker. Couldn't get past that stench.

Friendly front desk staff gave me their own fan to use in my room. Room accommodations were clean, bed very comfortable, fridge and microwave in room was great. Nice dip in the pool. Meals in the restaurant were tasty, but would like the menu rotated. Don't understand why they take the coffee in the lobby away at 9:00 am? We showed up unexpectedly due to a snow storm on our return trip home, and they were fabulous! Highly recommend this hotel.

The best thing about this hotel was the pool. The hotel is overpriced for the services it renders. Furniture and accessories look worn. One cup coffe maker, unable to use own coffee unless very creative. Staff at front desk not friendly. Towels were not replaced in room after it was cleaned. On check in only 3 towels for 4 persons. Room with view looked over a gravel walk way, when complained given a room with a similar view. Staff did not seem to care at all that we were unhappy. I will stay elsewhere when we return to this area.

The Holiday Inn West Portland had an incredibly friendly staff that provided us with everything that we needed and asked for. It is also located very close to downtown Portland, the cab ride was only 15 minutes and very reasonable.

hotel is showing it;s age. Room was small compared to newer faciities, but overall it was fine. 10 minute drive to downtown. On site restaurant was ok for breakfast, and the kids ate free!

My daughter and Grandsons were up in Maine for a funeral. We stayed over night and found the pools very relaxing after a stressful day. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was just okay. Our waiter in training needed much more training!! Everyone was very helpful and we didn't want for anything.

Staff went out of their way each time we requested a service - example picked us up with shuttle when we returned our rental car. Hard to find your way in corridors. This a nice midrange hotel in Portland ME. All the amenities are well maintained. It is clean, quiet, comfortable. The staff is excellent.

pool was clean but heating pipes made a deafening (resonating) racket--unbearable unless you bring earplugs. the bed was crippling for both of us--really saggy, and we woke up with sore necks and backs. In the a.m., we politely reported the pool noise to the front desk and they were not just unconcerned, but rude and seemed to take offense.

This was a nice hotel in a great place(right off the interstate). The only complaints I have are that the beds were very uncomfortable and that the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. I don't think it was just our room that smelled that way though, as the entire hallway smelled.

It was clean, good amenities, close to restaurants and shopping; right off highway. Did not serve complimentary breakfast. This was a good hotel for the price.

The Holiday Inn Portland-West was very welcoming. The hotel was in great condition. There was both an indoor and outdoor pool along with a fitness room. The outdoor pool was located in the inner courtyard, so it seemed secluded from the roads and other building in the area. Also in the courtyard was a gazebo and chairs and table for enjoying the outdoors day or night. The room we stayed in was a non-smoking room with a king bed. There was also a desk, entertainment center, and comfy chair for relaxing in. The hotel is located only a few miles from the Portland airport and was a short drive down in the morning to catch our flight. They also provide an airport shuttle if you don't want to rent a car.

On 2-17-07 I was married and on my honeymoon. This was the onlything that kept me smilin.7 Kids between us we couldnt afford to go away so we stayed in town at the Holiday Inn. The customer service was rude, the pool was shut down half the time and I had one of the empoyees slam a door on my face when I asked her a question.

This hotel was just what we needed for our trip to visit the Univ. of Southern Maine. The amenities offered gave it the added touch after a long day of interviewing school personnel and travel.

Free access to internet is excellent experience to me. I did not like that fat security guy's unfriendly looking. The Holiday Inn that we stayed was great. So I was expecting this one to be as good as that one in Manchester, NH. No. I do not think that I should compare those two. But the experience in Manchester could not go away, so I do not want to be too critical about everything in this Holiday Inn.

The room was very comfortable, the free Wi-FI internet service was great---the interactive TV Cable system was easy to use and had lots of great choices, best of all the room service food and service was really terrific and the food was as good as Fore Steet Restaurant but much more affordable. Oh, and the Hotel is very conviently located for getting to/from the airport, Portland and all points North or South-----Overall I was as impressed with this facility as I have been with really nice hotels. Oh, also they had a great pool and pool area and I did not even have time to enjoy it.

Not a great location, but was 20 minutes to downtown Portland. Room had great blackout curtains. Nice indoor, outdoor pools. The hotel was adequate at best. Did not have a king bed as requested and the bathroom was quite small. This hotel which was listed as close to the airport, was indeed not that close to the airport. The staff was accommodating. A requested crib was not in our room upon arrival but came soon after. We had requested a king bed but received two double beds instead. It's located across from a shopping center which can come in handy, but otherwise the location was not great. We would most likely not stay there again.
