From the M56, take junction for M53 Chester, follow signs for A55 Conwy, North Wales (the M53 merges with the A55). Continue on A55 westbound and take exit 34 signposted ConwyMold. Join the centre lane and pass junction 33b signposted Mold (do not take this exit). Take the next exit off the A55 (approx 200 yards)for the entrance to the hotel. From Conwy follow A55(signposted Chester). After the Northop services the hotel can be observed on the opposite carriageway. Continue along A55, at junction 34 take the right hand lane A494 (QueensferryM56). Take the next slip road(Buckley), then take last exit off roundabout(A55 Conwy). Join the centre lane so as not to take A55 to Chester, continue past J33b and the hotel entrance can be found approx 200 yards further on.

Stay at Hotel 3 July 2009Staff were very friendly and helpful. However there are a few points that need to be looked at. It was very noticeable that some guests were breaking the law, on numerous occasions I noticed guests hanging out of their windows smoking but there was no member of staff or security enfocing this law, I am a smoker and fully complied to the law by going out of the building to have a smoke. At night there was a considerable amount of rubbish around the outside bins which had not been cleared away. The breakfast crockery was filthy and staff had to clear the plates and bowls to be rewashed. Although the breakfast was hot the fried eggs were overcooked and had been standing for a long time. The room was comfortable but a few of the bathroom tiles were cracked.

Holiday Inn A55In a good location with excellent staff, although the hotel is situated on the A55 and could be off putting by noise traffic .We found it was was resonably quite in the hotel .I recomend this hotel as a stop off for North Wales and Chester.

Watch out if you are a non smoker!All OK, except was put in a smoking room. I think this is an issue with this booking service.Noisy if overlooking car park, you get inconsiderate morons talking and laughing at all hours while outside having a fag!

Reception OK. Room carpet rather stained. Bedspread looked tired but sheets crisp and clean - bed comfortable. Directions to hotel very difficult to follow - one side of a long dual carriageway & difficult to see in time! Food service good and nicely presented.

My StayReally friendly staff, shower was like a dripping tap, but they came out striaght away to fix it. Clean basic rooms. Will use again. Sunday roast was a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long wait for breakfast............................................................................The room was clean and tidy and everything in the room was as expected. Receptionist at check in and out was efficient and very helpful. However, the wait for breakfast was timed at an incredible 40 minutes from ordering, to the plates of food landing on the table! What was the excuse?? There only was four tables being used when we were waiting and three of them had already been served. The sausages, bacon, mushrooms and blackpudding looked as if they had sat on a hotplate for a couple of hours, so can only assume it took them the full 40 minutes to fry one egg. When i asked what the delay was, all I got was a "sorry" and a shrug of the shoulders. There was three people seen going in and out of the kitchen to the breakfast room so the frying of the one egg appeared to have got plenty of attention.A good hotel chain, but this time totally spoiled by the team preparing breakfast.Leave plenty of time to have your breakfast here, as the poor souls can only cope with one fried egg every 40 minutes.

A Great Place to RestI arrived late and was leaving early and so all I needed was a clean and comfortable place to sleep. The Holiday Inn West Chester met all my needs and especially as I don't feel the need to access the extensive TV facilities that some hotels have (and will inflate the price). Convenient location, tidy, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Top Notch!

Location was good so was the price,the room was average, fine for a couple of days, though the toilet flush did not always want to stop running, everything else was fine,the hotel seemed to be a bit under staffed especially in the bar area,there were functions on in the hotel for both nights we spent there, though we were not inconvenienced by these in any way, no noise or disturbance, it might account for the staff shortage. we would use this hotel again, breakfast was great, and dinner was fine, not a lot of choice but nice enough.

A modern and comfortable hotel with up-to-date room facilities - very clean and comfortable.Ask for a room on the 1st floor or above, as ground floor noisy throughout the night: my room was next to a main door.Situated well for a stopover and gateway to Chester or North Wales, and beyond. No hotel grounds. Good free car parking. There are local restaurants, a coffee shop and a petrol station very near to walk to.Overall room good value for money. I would recommend this hotel due to it's geographical location and modern, clean rooms.

I had to complain about the room as the bed was wet through with urine and the mattress had not been changed only covered by a fabric protector. In the end I had to change my room at 11.00 in the evening. It was filthy and my complaint was not handled y the management team in a satisfactory manner.Do not stay in this hotel it is a dump and don't eat in the american diner at the rear of the property as this is also a dump and the food was really greasy and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.

This was a good 'basic' hotel and was a pleasant stay. Very clean, very polite and courteous staff and an excellent budget option.Room was comfortable (except the bed which was a bit 'U' shaped)

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time, the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was lovely, it had everything we needed plenty of toiletries and towels. The bathroom and room were very well presented and clean. The buffet breakfast was very nice with alot of choice. It was definite value for money and we'd definitely stay in a Holiday Inn hotel again and we'd definitely use late rooms to book again.
