The hotel was obviously under construction. The manager, while very friendly and sympathetic, could not correct many of the problems - no wi-fi in entire wing of hotel, etc. The expected renovations sounded wonderful but at the present time the place showed many signs of deferred maintenance. Advice: Wait until 2010 to stay there.

Breakfast buffet and breakfast ala carte were both disappointing. Close proximity to UVA. Friendly staff. Restaurant available for late arrivals. Smoking and non smoking rooms and floors.

Overall, good experience. Staff were great, rooms clean and comfortable. I believe they claim to have "balconies", but the sliding door is constrained to 4 inches of travel. For the money, it was a nice stay!

The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I stayed for 3 days and don't have any complaints. Its definitely worth the money and what you could expect out of a Holiday Inn.

Close to attractions, nice layout. I requested a wake-up call, did not receive. Everything that I expected from a Holiday Inn. Decent room and offerings at a reasonable cost in a beautiful city.

This is an absolutely perfect location if you are visiting a child at UVA or visiting Charlottesville. It has great proximity as well and easy access to all the shopping nearby. The room was large, and comfortable, and the hotel has just been updated , so it is pretty much brand new. It was perfect for us while we were visiting our son.

I had a growing negative impression of the hotel as I stayed more nights. First I noticed that the in room cable television choices did not allow to keep up with news or regular shows I like to watch. It wasn't even basic cable. A real cheat for the regular prices. The hotel had many functions (blood drive, etc.) that while being worthy in themselves, really disrupted the comfort and convenience of the paying customer. I felt cheated and insulted by the management. The hotel laundry was broken the entire time and the in room bath and room cleaning was minimal. Altogether, a dissatifying experience.

Only needed a room for one night stay for our son to do UVA orientation. Room was great, desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Pool was clean and relaxing. Pool deck was very slippery and almost caused a fall. Beside that, overall a great hotel for a great rate.

The staff was helpful. The clean rooms. Front dest staff was excellent. The hotel has underwent great renovations. great improvements since the last time I stayed there. I will be staying there again. If you get the chance to stay here I would recommend it.
