We stayed at this hotel to spend a few days shopping at the Somerset Collection. Though a little hard to find, it's very close, and $200 a night cheaper than the hotel owned by the mall! If you don't mind being a few miles out of the way, it's perfect. The rooms were just as nice as those of the Somerset Inn, maybe even a little bigger. The pool was being filled during our stay, but it looked nice! I would say it was perfect, but the mattresses were terrible.

Excellent maintenance and housekeeping. Older property, bathrooms and public spaces were small. Pleasant and efficient, a good choice for a business stay. Quiet location in residential setting with convenient access to expressway. Nearby shopping and dining.

The rooms are clean, the best feature is the new matresses on the beds. They are some of the most comfortable I have ever found in a hotel. I thought the price was a bit on the high side but if you can use any discounts you can save a little money that way. We will probably stay there again because the location is perfect for us.

Close to business. For a 2.5 star hotel, breakfast should be included with the cost.

The Holiday Inn Troy was a pleasureable experience. I really enjoyed the room service when my sister and I didn't want to go down for breakfast but were very hungry. The pool was warm and inviting. Let's not leave out the friendly staff. They were very attentive. This is a excellent facility for families or business.

The cleanliness, staff attitude and the quietness. The heater in the room was too noisy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very clean, quiet and great location. The staff were friendly. It was a pleasant stay.

The staff was friendly and let me have a late check in. The location was not ideal, but was easy to get to. I wasn't able to make it to the hotel until very late, but the friendly staff still allowed me to check in with no extra charge. There was a fold out couch (which I had called ahead for) with the blanket, sheets, and pillow ready for us upon arrival. My boyfriend also said that the shower head was the best he had ever showered with and that we needed to get for our bathroom when we got back home. :). The hotel was very clean.

The room was good and very clean. Carpeting was new. Really liked my room. Entrance wasgood. Food in the restaurant was not very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms were remodeled and well kept and very clean. The staff was friendly.

Cleanliness and close to my destination. The vending machines were all out of water all five of them.

Private balcony/doors opened. Hard to find lots of road construction.

Quiet yet close to interstate hwy. Hotel is undergoing remodel. Nice clean rooms.

I liked the outdoor pool. Nice in the summertime. The first (of two) night we stayed, only smoking rooms were available. They were nasty. The hotel is not bad, but not great either. If you have an aversion to staying in a smoking room, make sure you call ahead and request a non-smoking room with the number of beds you will need. Upon check-in, the girl at the reservation desk chomped her gum like a cow chewing on cud as she told us we would have to take a smoking room if we wanted two beds. The next day, another girl was very friendly as she assisted us in switching into non-smoking rooms.

Close to where I needed to be. A lot of construction going on. Typical Holiday Inn, decent rooms, fair food, friendly staff. A little hard to find the first time locating.

Price, location and clean. The front door was too hard to open with luggage. They need auto doors. Good value.

It was very clean and the bed and pillows were wonderful. The hotel was a little tricky to find at first, however there was construction in the area that was messing us up also. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The bedding was great and just what we needed after a long day at work and a 4 hour drive. We would definitely stay there again.

Could open sliding door to allow fresh air into the room. Couldn't find the continental breakfast. Clean room on the small side. Staff was courteous and helpful. It was a little tricky finding the hotel. Road construction on the main road was not helpful.

Pleasant and adequate, clean, no surprises. Really miserable pillows and I never notice pillows. Older property that has been maintained to decent standards. Housekeeping good. Tiny lobby and public spaces. Small bathrooms. Above average desk staff in helpfulness and attitude.
Date of Stay:
March, 2008
Warm & dry. Poor quality and poor remodel. Room was poor quality,(bad re-model job) fuses blew continuously, Hot & Cold water were backwards, bathroom ceiling paint was peeling. Hotel was hard to get to. Overall not very nice looking, a little run down. Staff had to re-key the room several times. Not what I would expect from a 3 start Hotel.
